Planned Parenthood Report: Did 328,348 Abortions, Got $554.6M in Tax Dollars

(CNSNews.com) - Planned Parenthood’s newly released "2015-2016 Annual Report" says that the organization performed 328,348 abortions in the year that ended on Sept. 30, 2015, and received $554.6 million in "government health services reimbursements and grants"--money that came from U.S. taxpayers--in the year that on June 30, 2016.

That means Planned Parenthood performed 4,349 more abortions in its latest year reported (Oct. 1, 2014 to Sept. 30, 2015) than it did in the previous year it reported (Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept. 30, 2014).

In its "2014-2015 Annual Report," Planned Parenthood said it performed 323,999 abortions in the year that ended on Sept. 30, 2014 and received $553.7 million in government health services grants and reimbursements in the year that ended on June 30, 2015.

In newly released 2015-2016 report, Planned Parenthood said it gave 2,889 adoption referrals, meaning that for every 114 abortions it said it provided in that report, it gave 1 adoption referral.

It also said that the $554.6 million in government health services reimbursements and grants it received in teh eyar that ended on June 30, 2016 equaled about 41 percent of its total funding.

As always, the right-wing synopsis of the PP report is a gross distortion of the truth.
Since it is obviously that no one read the entire report (I did), let me break down the REAL facts for you.
The $553.7 million figure represents PP's entire income derived from government health services grants and reimbursements. Abortions (which are legal, by the way) account for just three percent of PP's services. The rest are low cost women's health care.
I suppose the truth would not have made such a tag-worthy headline, though.
