So he has Ben Sasse on his show, republican from Nebraska. Sasse invites him to come to Nebraska and come work in their fields. Maher responds by saying he's no "house nigger".
Twitter explodes and more.
Many are calling for his head and to be fired.
Does it get laughed off as comedy, and Maher getting a pass. Or does he get shitcanned?
What would you do if you were his boss?

Members of Congress express outrage after Maher slur
Washington (CNN)Several members of Congress condemned comedian Bill Maher Saturday in the wake of his use of a racial epithet on his HBO show.
Maher used the slur in an exchange with Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Nebraska, who appeared on the program Friday night to promote his book. Sasse kept quiet following the late-night comedian's remark, which was in the context of a joke and not censored when it initially aired on HBO.
Sen. Tim Scott, R-South Carolina, who is black, lamented "double standards" Saturday morning on Twitter and elaborated on his comments at the Iowa "Roast and Ride."
"Too often, too many people give the liberals a break on incendiary remarks that they make and it's time to hold their feet to the fire and it's good news to see people come out now and do so. It's necessary," Scott told an audience of reporters. He declined to comment on whether Maher should be fired.
Asked to elaborate on his "double standards" remark, Scott's office said the senator "has been vocal about the racially-charged comments he himself has received from the so-called tolerant left. His tweet this morning was in reference to an extremely inappropriate and offensive term used by a liberal commentator on national television."
Rep. Yvette Clarke, a New York Democrat, called Maher's remark "completely unacceptable."
Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu of California also slammed the remark.
"I believe that Bill Maher's comment was inexcusable and inappropriate and he should not have said it and I'm pleased he has apologized for making that remark," he told CNN's Ana Cabrera.
Sasse also took to Twitter Saturday morning to address his lack of response at the time of the incident. Sasse wrote that while he believes as "a 1st Amendment absolutist" it is Maher's right "to cross hard lines," though he should have spoken up.

jimmyc. He has been on HBO for many years, taking advantage of abuse of his 1st amendment rights to speak. Notice how he gets around it without worry, because he is untouchable by the FCC that controls govt. airwaves. That scuzball would never have a show on ABC, CBS, NBC because they are monitored, and licensed by the FCC.
Like all abusing that takes place today. Liberals enjoy THUMBING THEIR NOSE at everybody who happens to think they are JUST SCUZBALLS, AND PIECES OF SHIT.
Imagine if the FCC got control of the INTERNET....We'd all be speaking LIBERALLY ACCEPTABLE POLITICAL CORRECTNESS...consequently saying...NOTHING.

Clearly, Bill Maher should be immediately fired from every job he has, since that is what Hollywood says should happen to anyone else that talks that way.
That's for starters. I'd like to also call for a special investigation into charging Bill Maher for hate crimes. I believe that the maximum punishment for non-violent hate crimes is 1 year in a federal penitentiary and a fine of any amount, so I will call for the full 1 year and a $1,000,000 fine. That should be enough to get him to think twice the next time. Oh, and one other thing - make sure Maher's cellmate is the biggest psycho behind bars.

Though I dislike Maher, and his destructive, anti-everything language. We know he is able to use his DIRT, and BS to operate above, and beyond the normal standards of his free speech according to the 1st amendment....because society in general, has adapted the lawlessness, and disregard for anyone who doesn't tow the Politically Correct lines of LIBERALISM.
PROBLEM IS....Our known enemies also feel empowered to abuse, and use the first amendment, and our constitution as protection from those who practice P.C., and demand everyone...EVEN TERRORISTS, must be granted the same rights, liberties, and justice system our constitution...QUESTIONABLY is used by WE THE PEOPLE.
So. Our society has become more of a deplorable acceptance of everyone....no matter how they SPEAK, DISRUPT, or THREATEN anyone who doesn't follow their lead, or who disagree's with them.
END RESULT.... What Lincoln warned all of us about..."A LAND DIVIDED CANNOT STAND!"
The FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE....2017 VERSION.
HBO made him apologize & are now trying to sweep it all under the rug. They won't fire him unless advertisers flee, he makes them too much $$.
It requires a boycott.

I Hate maher. But what he said was hilarious. And why are only niggers allowed to say nigger?I never find Maher funny. Never have. I don't really see why ANY of these loony lefties have their own shows.
If you re looking for a logical response to the double standard some blacks have over the word "nigger", don't. There isn't one. I just don't use the word. Growing up in the military and being in the military where not only is it a punishable offense, but a matter of self preservation, you just learn not to. I was never taught racism by my family. I was taught racism by blacks who were racist against ME.
As far as names go ... I figure if you want to announce your weak spot right off the bat, react to being called something.
The double standard that pisses is ME off is imagine had a Republican/conservative said such a thing. The outrage and crying would be heard in outer space. Maher apologized so it'll disappear behind Trump's conversation with Ghengis Khan and their collusion to steal the election.

I am reading a book that says you can get to the point where nothing offends you and that it's biblical to do so. I am trying to imagine such a thing.

I am reading a book that says you can get to the point where nothing offends you and that it's biblical to do so. I am trying to imagine such a thing.I think that's impossible. You'd have to a robot. Or a noodle. Lots of things offend me and or others. The military in many ways is a big head game. You may offend me, but you'll never know it. I'm not giving you a loaded magazine for your weapon.
I consider most people emotion driven most of the time. That's where these reactions come from. Rational thought is not given to the situation, nor the possible outcome of one's reactions. An emotionally driven person doesn't know what to do if you simply don't react. They may try harder, but the first non-reaction diffuses them and makes them unsure.
The whole "nigger" thing is just that. They are programmed from birth to react to a word and with violence. They don't bother to think it through. Dumbasses. If I call you a "nigger", I WANT you to react. You can then ponder your misfortune while sitting in the hoosegow for assault. Not to mention any "self-defense" levelled your direction. :)

Exactly! The constant use of double standards is polarizing us even further, and is making us lose faith in just about everyone. And I love how the real person sometimes emerges from the veneers of these liberal phonies.
Maher was also the total jerk who called the 9-11 terrorists "courageous", no? More cannon fodder for the ME, as far as I'm concerned.
Oh, and love the psycho cellmate comment. Maybe make it a Muslim psycho to boot.
