My bearded dragon, or the boys who I feed, take care of and clean the tank - is currently in a 20 gallon tank which came as a kit when we first got him. He's outgrown it now. I got a cool new setup, a terrarium this time. It's similar in the manner that it's all glass with a screen on top. But this one is designed better than a fish tank and has glass sliding doors in the front. It's 3 feet long and a foot and a half deep and 2 feet high. He'll like this once it's all setup.

The problem is, how to get him from the tank to the terrarium. The little fucker hates me!! Ungrateful little bastard of a reptile!

And people say lizards are stupid. :)

I had my hands in the tank once and slipped and banged into the cage, and the dome light from the top fell down inside the cage and scared the bejeezus out of him. And then like a week later while I was putting some food in his bowl, I accidentally dropped some on his little lizard head. Now when he sees me coming, his beard turns like a black color and grows 3x its size!!

How in the sam hell did you get a beardie to hate you?? They love *everyone*. (Mine's name is Leopold - he's about a year and a half old, 18" long, 375g, and even likes the dogs. He hangs out on my shoulder most times.

I swear, it was just that one event. The dome light fell into his tank. To him, it must have looked like the sun coming crashing down to his little earth!

I used to handle him all the time. And I rarely saw his beard more than just a hint of it. He now has a love/hate relationship with me. He knows I feed him, and gets all excited as I prepared his crickets or his veggies, but still wants to eat me.

I've been having little chats with him to make him better understand the situation, but he's not really into working with me here.

So I may have to bust out the welding gloves to move him to the new terrarium. But even then, this bastard tried lunging at me the night this happened. He's a pretty good little jumper!

I had 2 of them a few years ago. They didn't seem to mind me, as in trying to bite me, but they surely weren't looking to make friends with me either. :)

Now my Savannah was cool as hell, and I truly think he did like me. I even built like a 6' cage for him. But he kept growing. He started eyeballing my Pug back then a little too often when he walked by. I had to feed that sucker with a 4' long or so pair of tongs. He wasn't particularly nasty, just wouldn't stop growing!

I was a beginner into the reptile world at the time. I knew a lot because my brother is a fanatic... but this was an instance of not learning everything one can before bringing a pet into their home. :(
