BIXBY, Okla. -- Local and federal authorities are investigating after an explosion at a US Air Force Recruiting Center in Bixby Monday night.
Dispatchers say Bixby Police requested the Tulsa Police bomb squad around 10:30 PM for assistance at the recruiting center near East 103rd Street and South Memorial.
Witnesses say someone on a red motorcycle threw a backpack at the recruiting center, which then blew up. They believe it may have been a pipe bomb.
The FBI is handling the investigation since it happened at a military facility. They confirmed there was an explosion around 10:30 p.m. Monday.
