Some people actually do OK for themselves in Communist countries WITHOUT being an accomplice to the regime. While I appreciate someone willing to sacrifice and be an open dissident, they are allowing themselves to become a pork chop and be eaten. I have an acquaintance in Cuba that installs illegal satellite dishes for a living. If he gets caught, both he and his customers will get two years in prison. His ability to make these satellite dishes unnoticeable from more than two meters away is just awesome. He proudly showed me his ingenious handiwork. He is promoting alternative journalism while making himself a good living. He has an arrangement with his boss at his state assigned job where his boss gets his salary in exchange for being reported present at work. The point is to refuse to play by the enemy's rules and be clever enough not to get caught.
