It would appear that may be the case. Contrary to what others may see - hate is hate - racism is racism.

Suspected Florida Cop Killer Claimed To Be Member Of Black Extremist Group

The Florida man who allegedly ambushed and killed two Kissimmee police officers Friday night is a self-professed member of a black extremist group who appears to have been upset by last week’s events in Charlottesville, Va.

Everett Glenn Miller, 45, was arrested and charged with first degree murder in the killing of Officers Sam Howard and Matthew Baxter.

Miller, who goes by the name Malik Mohammad Ali on Facebook, allegedly ambushed and shot the officers as they were responding to a disturbance call.

Miller, a Marine veteran, allegedly opened fire on the officers before they could draw their service weapons. He fled and was arrested several hours later. Police found two guns on Miller.

Baxter was a three-year veteran on the police force. Howard was a 10-year veteran.

Miller’s recent Facebook posts, which were first identified by the website Heavy.com, may provide some insight into what motivated him to ambush and kill the two officers.

His posts show anger towards police officers, President Trump, and white people, as well as frustration over the events last week in Charlottesville, where a man attending a white nationalist rally plowed his car into a crowd of protesters, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer.

“Damn Terrorist…White Terrorist in America. Be on the look out for white males that look like him,” Miller wrote in a post earlier this week along with a photo of James Fields, the 20-year-old white nationalist who has been charged with second-degree murder in Heyer’s death.

He's a racist and and has some problems, I wouldn't be surprised if he's part of a hate group.

There's a thread about this shooting and it doesn't mention anything about the cops being ambushed, in fact my take away from that other article was that the cops were harassing the shooter.

Since neither can testify...

But from all the accounts I read, it points to an ambush of some sort. Admittedly, some state "possible" at this point. And I'm not stating I'm right, only repeating what I've read is all.

All four of those are using a statement from their chief of police who when asked if this was an ambush said that it was too early to tell but it looks like it may have been and all of them except for the Post, big surprise, were honest about that. None of those stories describe an ambush. I agree with what you're saying about racists being all colors but one thing I can't stand is the media changing or misrepresenting reality and I don't care who their target is. It's wrong when they call everyone at a rally a Nazi even when most weren't and it's wrong to accuse this shooter of an ambush when no one has said straight out that it was an ambush and no description of the event comes close to describing an ambush.

Well, I think it's fair that they use the ambush story, so long as they report that it's "possible" and relay what the chief had to say, so that readers are aware of how they got that conclusion. But the chief, and those on the radios and dispatching calls, likely know more about what happened than we do. But I agree on how the media tends to change things at will. They should have simply titled the stories something along those lines: Chief thinks ambush was a possibility... instead of outright labeling it already, before any investigation has barely started.

Then again, maybe the media could have stressed the "too early to tell" portion, but that doesn't sell. :)
