Trump’s approval ratings now are relatively poor (https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/?ex_cid=rrpromo), despite a good economy, which is probably why he mentions it at every turn.

Is the economy good or bad?

But economists say that presidents don’t really deserve credit for job creation, especially at this stage of a presidency.

This I agree with.

I figured it was because those employers that didn't want to pay burger flippers $15 an hour quit hiring. But there's a silver lining ... 7-11 has a now hiring sign in the window :)

U.S. employers added 209,000 jobs in July — a second straight month of robust gains that underscore the economy’s vitality as it enters a ninth year of expansion. The Labor Department says the unemployment rate slipped to 4.3 percent, matching a 16-year low first reached in May.

Sure, WAPO again.

The economy, jobs and unemployment are looking better than they have in MANY YEARS. But some sources or folks will dig and dig, or even change how things are looked at, word things weirdly, use anonymous sources or even lie sometimes.

Overall, jobs are doing just fine. As are unemployment numbers. The stocks have been at record levels. By the majority of indicators the economy is doing aok on all fronts.
