Hurricane problems are muting this, but I've been reading it since 2am. When I first read it I was like, 'this isn't new...' Well I guess some of it is, but have to agree that there isn't much 'there' there.

Trump Business Was Trying To Swing Deal For Moscow Hotel During Presidential CampaignALLAHPUNDITPosted at 11:21 am on August 28, 2017

Anti-Trumpers are buzzing about this because it has all the makings of a true Russiagate bombshell — Trump! Russia! money! secret deals! — but doesn’t deliver much of anything. It’s noteworthy only to the extent that it raises the potential for future bombshells. Trump was interested in doing business in Russia *while* he was a candidate for president, and evidently the Trump Organization was trying to make that happen. That means new contacts between Trump associates and Russians for Bob Mueller to explore, particularly any contacts that may have led to money changing hands in other unrelated “business deals.”

The hotel deal, though? Not only didn’t it happen, it was apparently dead by January 2016 (https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trumps-business-sought-deal-on-a-trump-tower-in-moscow-while-he-ran-for-president/2017/08/27/d6e95114-8b65-11e7-91d5-ab4e4bb76a3a_story.html?utm_term=.446ef6e336e4), before a single vote had been cast for Trump in a presidential primary.

...

So while it makes some connections that Mueller may follow up on, there really just isn't much of a 'scoop' here.

Mueller should be shut down. That's a huge waste of money.

If a S.C. was ever needed, it's for investigating known crimes by Clinton, Lynch and Comey.

I've still yet to see a tiny bit of wrongdoing by Trump/Russia in the most minuscule of ways, and yet folks like Waters and others are still ready to hang him. Maybe Mueller is hiding something as of now, but I haven't seen anything at all worthy of even blinking at.

Now, Manafort may be different.

And it's been going on for a year now, even after partisan hack Mueller stacked the deck against president Trump with the most rabid, powerful, Clinton, dem supporting bunch of witch hunters he could find... and not ONE conservative... not ONE... ya, that's REAL NON PARTISAN.

President Trump would be well within reason to fire Mueller TODAY. If I was president, that's exactly what I'd do. I'd let the democrat propaganda machine have their shit storm, and while they were all following that carrot on a stick, I'd get more work done.

Trump is doing a very good job with the storm, the media hates him, and now this story breaks. I doubt it's true, I think it's made up.

I don't think it's 'made up' I think it's just not much as is. I'm pretty sure this was reported a long time ago, maybe during early primaries.

Do you really believe it was just discovered now?

A bit more, thanks to NYT. Still seems more of nothing of import other than 'Russia!':

Nope, not playing with that. I said from the time I posted it, I thought I'd read this long ago. Not going to search for links a year or more old, when this is a top story today. But, thanks for asking!

Whatever, does seem to be it wasn't 'made up' though: http://hotair.com/headlines/archives/2017/08/trump-knew-moscow-tower-proposal-campaign-lawyer-says/

I still don't get why it's a big story, other than 'Russia!' It was his business, until he won and became a businessman/non-politician. :laugh2:

Getting interesting, 'letter of intent' signed by Trump:

you kind of answered your own question.

Yeah, but the letter of intent sort of puts 'lie' to the no interests in Russia sought.
