They can't just leave it at the fact that Trump did what was expected of a sitting American president - that he visited Texas, the state hit so hard by the storm?

And it's not enough that he is donating $1 million dollars of his own money. It's GOT to be compared to fund raising campaigns by the likes of Beyonce and JJ Watt. Absolutely!! Fantastic folks and fantastic efforts that are bringing in a lot of money. But Trump's is going to be his personal funds. It's not an entire campaign. Folks are just looking for reasons to bash him, no matter the reason. What was he supposed to do, NOT go to Texas?

And claiming he did this stuff to avoid impeachment is retarded and embarrassing. As if he scheduled the incoming hurricane to avoid discussions or events. Damn, he must have inherited that ability from Bush!!

And would there really be impeachment talk this week? Is the investigation all but complete and I missed something?

Gabe Sherman: Trump Is Visiting Texas to Distract From Mueller Investigation

Saturday, MSNBC contributor and Vanity Fair special correspondent Gabriel Sherman claimed President Donald Trump was in Texas this weekend to get the focus away from new findings by special counsel Robert Mueller in the Russia investigation.

“This is a desperate effort by this White House to come up with a new storyline because the story that Donald Trump doesn’t want the world focused on is the Robert Mueller investigation, which we know from new reporting this week that is moving ahead at rapid-fire speed,” argued Sherman.

MSNBC’s Nance: If There Wasn’t a Hurricane, We’d Be Talking Trump’s Impeachment This Week

MSNBC terrorism analyst Malcolm Nance said Saturday that if it were not for Hurricane Harvey and the devastation that followed, the topic of discussion this week would be President Donald Trump’s impeachment.

“[L]et me tell you something, if we didn’t have a hurricane this week, that letter between Felix Sater and [Michael] Cohen would be considered the bridge between Trump’s own personal desires and the Kremlin. They’re throwing all of their effort behind him. We’d be talking impeachment this week. So, I think that everyone is looking at it too short-sightedly and you have to understand Mueller is tearing his past life finances apart because he needs to know were the Russians manipulating him financially from the start,” Nance said on “AM Joy.”

Joy Reid: Trump’s Hurricane Harvey Donation Is ‘Dwarfed’ by Other Celebrities

In a Saturday monologue on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” Joy Reid discussed President Donald Trump’s visits to Texas for Hurricane Harvey, the first of which she called a “bust.”

“You may recall the first visit was something of a bust,” Reid stated. “[Trump] went to a part of the state that wasn’t flooded and held an impromptu rally where he bragged about the size of his crowd, touted the FEMA chief’s level of TV fame and seemingly even marvelled at the magnitude of the storm while stopping just shy of congratulating himself and Texas officials on doing a heck of a job.”

Reid then added that Trump’s $1 million donation to Hurricane Harvey victims is “dwarfed” by what Beyonce and Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt have done.

She said, “His million-dollar pledge is also dwarfed by the efforts of celebrities like Beyonce and J.J. Watt, who have launched their own fund-raising campaigns with Watt raising $16 million and counting.”

Earlier today even I expressed my happiness with the way folks were all coming together, from all stripes, colors and religions, to simply help one another in a time of need.

Trump, perhaps in poor wording as usual, stated of all of these people coming together and helping one another, that the response was a "wonderful thing". Dang people, get a grip, he surely wasn't celebrating tragedy. Clearly it's a way of applauding people coming together to help.

But nooooooooooooooo, the left can't have that, starting with princess twit herself, Chelsea...

The hatred, as I said, all the way since the Queen herself lost. It just oozes out and no matter what Trump may do, a way will be found to condemn or minimize it.

Chelsea Clinton Attacks President Trump for Saying #Harvey Response a ‘Wonderful Thing’

Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton lit into President Donald Trump, the man who defeated her mother Hillary Clinton for the presidency last year, with a haughty attack on Trump for his remarks to the press after meeting and comforting victims at a Houston Hurricane Harvey relief center that the response to the historic devastation has been a “wonderful thing.”

Above a video clip by ABC News of Trump’s remarks captioned, “.@POTUS at Houston relief center: “As tough as this was,” the response “has been a wonderful thing, I think, even for the country to watch.”, Clinton wrote on Twitter, “People lost their lives, loved ones, homes, beloved pets. Many thousands of people face uncertain futures. Our President on #Harvey:”

The video clip clearly shows Trump talking about the reaction by Harvey victims to the nationwide outpouring of help, yet partisan hacks like Chelsea Clinton are attacking Trump for speaking in glowing terms about the response.
