I'm really not sure that I give a set of porcupine's balls what they think? For the most part, Ivanka has always been the liberal counterpart to her father's conservative side. While I think Jared is more conservative, I also think he gets lead on a leash a little from Ivanka. And I would too!!

Jared and Ivanka Support Extending DACA

President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner support the idea of extending DACA, according to a report in the New York Times. (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/03/us/politics/trump-daca.html?smprod=nytcore-iphone&smid=nytcore-iphone-share)

The couple, who both serve as advisers to the president, traditionally signal their opposition to several of the president’s more controversial decisions. They wanted to seem more supportive of gay and transgender rights, keeping the United States in the Paris climate change agreement, and distancing themselves from Trump’s remarks after the violent events in Charlottesville.

Top business leaders including major Silicon Vally executives at Facebook, Amazon, and Apple have voiced desperate appeals to the president in the hopes that he will extend the program. Kushner worked extensively with Silicon Valley leaders putting together his American Technology Council at the White House, many who could leave in protest if Trump ends DACA.

The White House remains silent about the president’s intentions as he has nothing on his public schedule for Labor Day. The DACA decision is expected to be announced on Tuesday.

Rep. Steve King on Delaying DACA Decision: ‘Republican Suicide’

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) tweeted on Sunday that a delay in ending the amnesty for illegal aliens brought to the U.S. as children through former President Barack Obama’s 2012 executive order would be “suicide” for the GOP.

“Ending DACA now gives chance [to] restore Rule of Law. Delaying so [Republican] Leadership can push Amnesty is Republican suicide,” King tweeted.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, has allowed as many as 850,000 illegal aliens to be temporarily protected from deportation and provided with work permits.

The White House has said President Donald Trump will announce his decision on DACA on Tuesday, but media reports say that while the president will indeed end the program, a six-month delay for its demise will be put in place in deference to a growing number of lawmakers — including Republicans — who want Congress to fix the country’s illegal immigration problem legislatively.

“In a nod to reservations held by many lawmakers, the White House plans to delay the enforcement of the president’s decision for six months, giving Congress a window to act, according to one White House official,” Politico reported. “But a senior White House aide said that chief of staff John Kelly, who has been running the West Wing policy process on the issue, ‘thinks Congress should’ve gotten its act together a lot longer ago.’”

How about Paul Ryan on DACA? I can understand that if over a long period of time one has changed their stance on emotional reasons or whatever. But going from not supporting and unconstitutional, to supporting?

---

Paul Ryan In 2014: Executive Amnesty Is ‘Blatantly Unconstitutional’

House Speaker Paul Ryan said last week that he doesn’t think President Trump should end DACA, although in 2014 he called it “blatantly unconstitutional.”

“I actually don’t think he should do that, and I believe that this is something that Congress has to fix,” Ryan said of Trump’s decision to end the Obama executive order that protects undocumented children.

However, in a 2014 interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Ryan sang a different tune.

Hannity asked Ryan what he would do to stop Obama if he were to “follow through on his threat for executive amnesty.”

“First of all, it’s unconstitutional so we’re already going through the court system on other unconstitutional executive orders that [Obama] has worked on and we would add this to the pile,” Ryan said at the time.

“If he were to do that, by the way, he would put millions of people in legal limbo, poison the well for Congress, and do something that’s so blatantly unconstitutional so we’re telling the administration don’t even think about doing this,” he asserted.

“If you want to change a law, then go to Congress,” Ryan said. “You can’t unilaterally write a law as the executive.”

Here was Ted Cruz in the past:

--

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz bluntly told an immigrant "DREAMer" from Mexico that he will deport her if he is elected president.

At a campaign event in Webster City, Iowa, the surging GOP presidential contender was questioned by a 30-year-old special needs worker who confessed she'd benefited from President Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

"I think of myself as a part of this community and you know, first day of presidency, you decide to deport, you know, people like myself, you know, it's just very difficult," Ofelia Valdez told Cruz, the Washington Post reports.

Nodding sympathetically, Cruz noted the executive order was "creating human tragedies" – but held firm to his stance against illegal immigration.

"If you're a DACA recipient, you were brought here illegally, and violating the law has consequences," he said.

A video clip of the exchange was posted on YouTube.

"One of the problems of our broken immigration system is that it is creating human tragedies and there are human tragedies when people break the law," Cruz said, adding if he were to enter another country "illegally… and they catch me, they will deport me."

"And there's no reason America's laws should have less respect," he said.

Trump is just playing to his base and removing himself from responsibility. I have no question DACA will be restored in some form by congress.

Well said, Captain Obvious. Even Trump wants it restored 'in some form.' The problem was that it wasn't Constitutional the way Obama did it. The state attorney generals that were bringing suits today, would have result in that finding, as even the Democrats acknowledge.

The only real question is which candidates/parties will be hurt most by how it's played over the next 6 months or so.

Trump is using it as a bargaining chip for wall funding. It's disgraceful.

I don't know if I've always been somewhat open to seriously looking at both sides of issues, there's no doubt though I've become more so as time moves on.

Here's a conservative state's atty, one that was ready to sue the administration over DACA yesterday, if the administration didn't move. Preparing to file, he wrote the two conservative senators of his state regarding DACA and what could be done. Addressing legality, constitutionality, country's self-interests, and those that have illegal status and special circumstances. (You'll note that he's not just addressing the children, but also their parents):
