MILO To Bring Navy SEAL Squad To Berkeley “Free Speech Week” As Security Fears Mount

Come hell or high water, Conservative firebrand Milo Yiannopoulos vows “Free Speech Week” at the University of California, Berkeley will go on. In a statement posted to his Facebook page Wednesday, Yiannopoulos revealed a Navy SEAL Security squad will be there to protect him, along with other event speakers, later this month.

In a statement to Campus Reform, Yiannopoulos further blasted the reports of possible cancellation, calling Mogulof’s comments “balderdash and piffle.”

Following his August pledge to spend “hundreds of thousands of dollars” on security at the event, Yiannopoulos also revealed that he is bringing a Navy SEAL team to assist with protecting the speakers.

“Our efforts are moving ahead at full speed to put together the best free speech event Berkeley has ever seen,” he said. “I am sparing no expense, including a 16-man Navy SEAL security detail for me and our speakers.”

“UC Berkeley has claimed that this will be a year of free speech, but they’ve quickly gone back to their old tricks,” Yiannopoulos observed. “They seem committed to the course of excluding speakers who don’t share their progressive authoritarian mindset from campus. It won’t fly, there is too much at stake for America, and too many eyes on both the university administration and the city of Berkeley.”

University of California, Berkeley faculty members called for a boycott Wednesday during “Free Speech Week,” in an effort to keep their students safe from speakers like Milo Yiannopoulos.

Seventy-six faculty members signed a letter calling Free Speech Week, an event from Sept. 24-27, potentially dangerous for some of the college’s minority students since speakers like Yiannopoulos and Steve Bannon are set to attend, reports the Daily Cal.

The boycott letter, written by seven faculty members, demands three things: faculty should cancel their classes and allow the students to stay home, close down other buildings so staff can stay home as well, and refrain from punishing students who don’t show up to class that week.

The college has yet to make an official announcement about the speakers and the event, the letter adds.

“As faculty we cannot ask students and staff to choose between risking their physical and mental safety in order to attend class or come to work in an environment of harassment, intimidation, violence and militarized policing,” the letter reads. “The reality is that particularly vulnerable populations (DACA students, non-white, gender queer, Muslims, disabled, feminists and others) have already been harmed and are reporting increasing levels of fear and anxiety about the upcoming events. ”

Hell, government should send in Federal Marshals and reinforcements to arrest those showing up and acting out with violence. That worthless university should fire those seven faculty members that are actually attempting to stifle the free speech rights of the speakers, IMHO.
