Must not have gone over well with their alumni serving in the CIA. The resignation of former CIA director, who served under both Bush II and Obama likely caused a few problems:

Manning is, and always will be a TRAITOR to the People of the United States.

You know, I didn't agree with their decision to extend the invitation to Manning, but by GOD if you're going to have the nerve to do it, have the balls to stick by your decision.

I don't understand why Chelsea Manning is reviled for her leaks while Julian Assange is celebrated for his.

While I "revile" no one, I would say that the answer you seek has something to do with the difference in the jobs the two individuals held. Julian Assange was not enlisted in the United States military and in no way violated the oath taken when one enlists. Chelsea Manning, on the other hand...

Let me add that, if it is anything other than the above, people need to get over it.

Yup, one took an oath and one didn't. One's job was to protect America, not give away secrets.

From the article...

"Specifically, we invited her... "

Why do these article authors and editors insist on calling a pervert GUY dressed up like girl, "HER?"

Good question gabby. But now, tell us how Assange served in uniform for the U.S. in any way. Both of them are totally different people, as you said...no way violated the oath. Actually, that's a pretty lame comparison...so liberally stated.
