I just saw this show tonight and it was awesome. Ricky Nelson is one of my all time favorites. It is done by Ricky's son's Matthew an Gunnar. They play all of his song's and then they play some of their own number one hit's. Matthew sounds almost like his dad. This for sure one of the best concerts I have seen.

I was am on the Entertainment Committee for Hot August Nights so I got to meet them and they are about the two nicest guys you will ever meet. At the end of their concert they decided they wanted to do autograph's and pictures for everyone in attendance. There were close to 10,000 people, thank god only about 500 stayed around for that.

I still don't know anything about You Tube, but if anyone can find videos of them doing their dads songs on You Tube please post them here. Also if they come to your town, go see them, it's well worth it!

Garden Party is my favorite Ricky Nelson song.

Do you know what it is about? It's about when he played Madison Square Garden and he came out with long hair etc. They expected The teen Idol Ricky and booed him off the stage. He went home and wrote that song. The biggest Radio DJ in New York was absolutly furious on how he was treated and when he got the copy of Garden Party he played it 24 hours straight on the air and it then became a number one hit. Matthew was talking about it backstage. The phrase You can't please Everyone so you got to please Yourself really sinks in after hearing everything that happened.

Ricky Nelson is my all time favorite. I still have his records on 45's.

Garden Party is my favorite as well. I also like Poor Little Fool, Travelin' Man, Be'Bop Baby, It's Late and many others. I really suggest you go see the twins act if they ever come out your way. I know your good with the You Tube stuff, do you think you could find the twins doing Garden Party and Poor Little Fool and Travelin' Man and post it here?

I've heard that story, sad. Same thing happened to Paul Anka when he played here in Ottawa - his home town, they booed him for some odd reason.

Here's Garden Party, all three Nelson brothers are playing:

I remember watching Ricky on Ozzie and Harriet when I was growing up. When he got older and started performing his music they always ended each segment with him performing a song.
