Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says while the U.S. will stay in the Iran nuclear deal, President Trump wants a more comprehensive strategy to deal with the country.

In an interview Sunday, Tillerson says the U.S. wants to fully enforce the agreement as it exists and then begin the process to address the deal’s flaws.
The secretary of state’s comments come after President Trump alleged the deal is not being strictly enforced and is no longer in the best interest of the U.S.
“This nuclear agreement is flawed,” said Tillerson. It has a number of weaknesses in it. And so the president said throughout his campaign, even, he said I’ll either reform the agreement, I’ll renegotiate the agreement, basically saying I’ll either fix these flaws, or we’ll have to have a different agreement entirely.”
Tillerson also said the U.S. must deal with a much more broad array of threats Iran poses to our allies in the Middle East.

Mixed signals? Doesn't sound at all like what Trump said.

Yes. Mixed signals. Why would Iran deal be best for anyone.

Yes. Mixed signals. Why would Iran deal be best for anyone.I'm just wondering why they Tillerson would be saying something that does not reflect what Trump said. Trump's speech is in the other thread I posted in this topic.

While he left room for negotiation, it wasn't much and he reinstated sanctions on Iran. So I don't get this.

Sounds about the same as Mattis saying trannies were going to be allowed to remain in the military, when president Trump said they're all going to be kicked out and no more allowed.

WTF is going on with his people contradicting what he said?

Sounds like open defiance.

Your correct Gunny....dont make a bit of sense....dont smell right..especially after Tillersons video (short speech) yesterday supporting Donald fully.....He's doing the same thing about N Korea.

Tillerson hit the Sunday circuit today and said there is no rift between he and Trump. And to add to the soap ... Corker is trying to drag Tillerson and some "others" into his feud with Trump. "Today's episode of As the World Turns brought to you by Proctor & Gamble"
