View Full Version : NFL Won't Penalize Players For Kneeling During Anthem

OK... I guess then they've decided that it's more important to spit on the flag and national anthem than it is to continue the NFL as a profitable organization, because the people tuning them out and not going to games will just keep going up.

I for one am done. I won't tune in another game, period. I don't care if they all stand and show the proper respect, the damage is done and now I know what kind of a bunch of political leftist trash the NFL is, so they'll never see another minute or dime of my patronage.

The N.F.L. for now will continue to let players kneel or sit during the national anthem without a penalty, capitulating to demands by the athletes for free expression but potentially further alienating fans who object to the protests and feel they are disrespectful to the flag and the military.
But, after a meeting Tuesday with union representatives and players, the league did promise to help support some of the causes targeted by the protesting players, including reform of the criminal justice system.

So now the FNL isn't about FOOTBALL anymore, it's a LEFTIST OUTREACH CENTER.

Rodgers is out for the season anyway. Tough decision you had.

That had nothing to do with it. I quit watching last year when this all started. I watched one Packer preseason game this year in hopes that this pissing on the flag stuff was over, but, since it isn't, not a tough decision at all, I'm done.

The spoiled, racist millionaires who play a game in a nation that gives former GHETTO members the opportunity to succeed, big time....will one day learn. It's not nice to fool with ANGRY AMERICANS who pay their salaries. MONEY TALKS...and it ALSO WALKS.

But...they all claim to be smarter than that. I wonder if the Commish has access to the forms those players need to fill-out for UNEMPLOYMENT???

Wait a second! Unemployment only works for people who HAVE A JOB, and have WORKED for their success. If they only have football experience. How many FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES have spots available for Tight Ends, Blockers, Kickers, and QB"s???

He's SO worried about NFL players being role models. SO worried about the PSI in a football. SO got his nose in the personal lives of his players who don't act all PC in public. Where's his spine go on this one? He's sure got one when PC is on his side.

The numbers aren't going to tell right away for those looking for any excuse to justify continuing watching. The numbers down the line will tell. I doubt any are going to just toss their season tickets. But they don't have to buy more. All the merchandising that goes on is going to take a hit.

I doubt the NFL will go broke as some are hoping. It's going to hurt them where it counts though. Viewership is actually the smallest portion of the NFL's income and means nothing. Hell, if you just leave your TV on and leave the room (which I do a lot) and a game comes on, you're counted. But you aren't selling me sh*t.

The people that quit buying their crap are the ones who are going to hurt them.

Compared with the first six weeks of the 2015 season, NFL ratings are off 18.7 percent

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21056998/nfl-ratings-75-percent-week-6-2017-compared-2016

That's really NOT GOOD, when you're a multi billion dollar business, that equates to a LOT OF MONEY LOST. Weird they're doing it to themselves, and they refuse to fix it.

Whatever...

Baseball game on tonight. Somebody's playing. I need background noise. If it turns out to be the Dodgers I'll find some I Love Lucy reruns.

That football game on the other channel they've been doubling down pimping all day? SOL in the Gunny house.
