Almost one year after the heart attack, I got some test results today: One wall of my heart is damaged to the extent that it does not move at all. I also now have an irregular heart rythym, and still have a leaky heart valve.

The good news is my cardiologist said the damage is "slightly less" than a year ago.

Barring an accident, I think I have a pretty good idea of how I will go...

Take care of yourselves, everyone.

Holy Geez Abbey... c'mon now... let's keep the positive attitude no matter what.

When Jim allowed me back, you were one of the people I was so glad to see again. You've always been such an awesome bedrock of decency, reason and patriotism. Please take care of yourself and know that you're in my prayers. The world needs people like you.

You are so kind. Thank you for that.

Abbey. Your heart even at 50% is stronger than normal people's hearts at 200%. your love is your strength. You got this.

Improvement is good.

Are the docs going to replace the leaky valve?

Not thusfar. I think that is the least concerning of the three.

I finally have one area where I can say CSM and I are on a par! ;)

God luck with the appointment, and I will have you in my prayers for sure.

You, Abbey, Bilgerat, Tyr, and AT have all been in my 'heart' prayers too. Gunny gets his own. ;)

I wish there was a "This Post Makes Me Sad" button, but there is not. You are a pretty awesome person here on DP and I wish you the best. You will be in my prayers.

If hugs could make people whole again I would come visit and give you hugs. My heart hurts for you Abbey.

We haven't forgotten you Abbey. In fact. Many of us out here in the nether-land have gone through much of what you are now being challenged with....up close, and personal.
As long as you have anyone who knows your name....Feel confident...that our prayers are always with you. Stay strong...You CAN beat it. Nothing is Impossible! God Bless.

not being on much and missing a lot of conversation makes for lots of catch-up reading.

But reading this makes my emotional-heart hurt. Sorry to read that you are going through this and that you experienced such a scary ordeal.

Prayers for healing!!

Not sure if that's good or bad  If it means that for whatever else might be wrong with me, my heart isn't one of them, I'll take it. Compared to y'all, I'm in damned good shape
Abbey ... don't be down. A "little progress" where the heart is concerned is GOOD. Even a "the same" is acceptable. The other 2 choices not so much. Keep the faith :)
