Now let's start with the fact the ad is ALWAYS Head-n-Shoulders. WTF am I supposed to do with shampoo? Find a dog to use it on?

Then there's this little tab at the bottom that says: "Visit sponsor's site". I want to know WHO watches videos on youtube and visits Head-n-Shoulders? Who even uses Hea-Head-n-Shoulders? That shit was a done deal when *I* was a teenager. Oh, I can tell you that Odell Beckham Jr uses the shit on that half-blond fro of his. "I'm gonna sell me some shampoo. Get me a black guy with the most ree-tardedest hair in the NFL 9the a team will hire so Mr BLM is out)."

Or Crest. Who doesn't use toothpaste? Never mind. Jesus used Crest. It's been around since it had only one flavor and the dentist handed it out. They have to advertise on youtube? Some hillbilly quit brushing his fangs? You go ANYWHERE that has toothpaste and there's 20 different sizes, shapes, containers and flavors of Crest. If you can read, you know about Crest toothpaste and if you can't read you'll stumble over the product at the store. Hell that shit even silver western belt buckles up REAL good.

Pepto Bismal. For those who can stomach the shit. If you weren't sick before ... we guarantee you will be. Another been around since Christ was a Corporal product.

Hint: If I want to watch commercials instead of videos I got a TeeVee.

You guys are insane for not using adblocker.

I never see any ads in videos, and it blocks 99% of them on webpages.

And this is for not installing it before now : :slap:

Yessir, it does. Strips out those stupid video ads and your video plays immediately when you clickie. Also stops most pop-ups - not all, but most.

Your speed goes WAY up because you're not trying to load 85 ads all at once.

Security is enhanced because you're not trying to load 85 ads from who knows where.

Yeah... IT guys get very motherly with the equipment they're in charge of... but I would seriously doubt, if you asked one, any IT professional would have a problem with adblock installed. That would be more of a Russ question.

lol, yep!

Very unusual if I disable AdBlock when I see that message. Like 1 out of 1000, and it's only because one site has a story I want to read and the others don't have it yet... but that doesn't happen very often.

Lots of sites will bitch about it because they're losing revenue because you aren't seeing their ads, and I understand their point. I honestly don't care.

I loathe ads. Commercials suck. The only time I willingly watch a commercial is if it's a funny one, and then I'll watch it for the entertainment value... like those Snickers commercials. Those were funny, but if it had been in a video I was trying to watch, the irritation value would have overridden the fun factor of watching it.

I use ADBLOCK for YOUTUBE. It comes from Google. Easy to find, and it's Free.

Just go to google, and type ADBLOCK for Youtube. It installs automatically.

No muss, no fuss. Saved you time...here's the linkhttps://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/youtube-adblocker-block-v/endbgkekkonhloepcdnkgoipkabpapda?hl=en

And this is for not installing it before now : :slap:I did when they were free. Even if it meant the ad blocker WAS the biggest spammer on my computer thereafter. I'm not paying for it. As BD just stated, they are whores. They offer free shit up front, reel you in, then charge you for it. My "free" internet already costs enough without having to pay for any and everything on it separately.

I'm sure as Hell not going to watch a Cowboys game. They're pretty-much f*cked anyway if they don't win out.

No prob for you Gunny. We still have all the crap going on in Washington. That's enough to bitch about for years, decades, and centuries. Let's piss 'em off, and stay around long enough to remind them how stupid they are? Okay?

Happy Thanksgiving...no matter which way you get it.

I don't know WHO thought up this "Thanksgiving WEEK break" shit. We used to get 2 days. I've had grandkids for 3 days non-stop and a SIL who is useless. They NEED to leave me alone for a day. They might survive until Monday  I need a Thanksgiving break. :)

There's nothing more insulting to ones intelligence than commercials. I detest them. Every time I see a commercial on TV the TV goes on mute, and that's if I'm watching live TV. I do my best to prerecord everything I want to watch, because then I can FF through all the STUPID commercials, and sometimes I put the TV on "pause," and keep it paused for about 10 minutes or so, enough time to FF through coming commercials in whatever I'm watching that isn't recorded.

Yeah, online, I use google chrome for a browser and Adblock Plus, and it's free, and it works great, and I'm with LongTermGuy, there's LOTS of websites that throw up a popup that says, "we've noticed you're using an adblock, snif, snif, PLEASE TURN IT OFF BECAUSE WE CAN'T MAKE ANY MONEY... whaaaaa," but I don't, I just leave their freakin' website, fuck 'em.

You enjoy your peace 'n quiet Thanksgiving, Gunny. I have to brave the damn TRAFFIC over to Ma's past Madison, and I HATE that leftist toilet town with a PASSION. The best part of it is looking back at it as I hightail it back out to the sticks.

No, man, this doesn't spam whatsoever and it's completely free. It simply rejects ads outright and you never see them.

Absolutely agree and hold your sentiments ....Like you said...those special sites with must read stories I will un-block temporarily ...(later go back and clear their tracking cookies...I use a paid service)

Happy Thanksgiving friend....I feel you had a good one like me!:salute:

Mr. N. Train!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I agree with all your statements - AdBlock is a great extension for home use, but an IT team that handles desktop applications would hate to add unnecessary stuff in the company's standard pc build. If the IT team puts it in the pc build, then it has to support it, it has to fix things if it causes any problems, and it has to unblock anything that some vice president in the New York office wants to see but thinks is getting blocked by it. And if you make it too easy for users to go to Youtube and Facebook and not see ads, then you're just making it tempting for employees to watch videos instead of doing work.

The first thing IT teams worry about blocking is objectionable content that could result in the company getting sued, such as pornography, hate speech, etc. And the second thing they want to block is file transfer sites like Dropbox that might make it too easy for someone to transfer company data outside of the company. They don't care that much if you have to see too many ads.

But lets face it, AdBlock is great for home use. :)
