I am a huge fan of the movie On Golden Pond. Long family history associated with the lake it was based on in Maine.
Anyway, since I first saw it, I've been in love with Henry Fonda's birthday cake in the film.

This is it:

My amazing husband and daughter replicated it for my birthday this year.

I think they did an incredible job!

It was my daughter's brainchild, and Russ drilled a ton of tiny holes in that cake stand to hold the candles.

I cried. I feel so blessed.

Just had to share.

Thanks, Gabriella!

Aging firmly beats the alternative, lol.

I remember this Abbey...what a great movie!...Made back in 1981....One scene I looked for (and found) and felt was kind of cute...

I liked the photography in that movie. Of course they had a lot of good stuff to work with but the use of lighting to capture the imagery and moods was excellent.

And I loved the boat. We had a similar Chris Craft when I was kid that learned to water ski behind.

Ours was a bit later model, 1958 and looked similar to this

Taco, I agree on the cinematography.
Plus the lake it was written about is really so pretty. They captured it very well, though it was actually filmed in New Hampshire.

The writer, Ernest Thompson, grew up staying on the same lakes we do.

Your boat is very similar- beautiful!
