"Neil Diamond has officially announced his retirement from touring due to his recent Parkinson’s diagnosis.

The third leg of his 50th Anniversary tour, which was set to launch in March across Australia and New Zealand, has been cancelled as was medically recommended from his doctor. Fans who already purchased tickets will be refunded in full.

“I plan to remain active in writing, recording and other projects for a long time to come,” the singer wrote in a statement Monday (Jan. 22) on his website. “My thanks goes out to my loyal and devoted audiences around the world. You will always have my appreciation for your support and encouragement. This ride has been ‘so good, so good, so good’ thanks to you.”"

My favorite musical artist! I saw him in concert 4 times and he always entertained the crowd and not himself.
His most memorable concert was in December after 9/11, where the backdrop was a huge Flag of the USA. He dedicated that
show to the victims and surviors.

I always loved the music of both Neil Young and Neil Diamond, however I simply could not stand the music of Neil Sedaka .
Sad but old age, health problems catch us all , if we live long enough.
So many great singers, musicians are retiring, or else dying these last few years.
I felt the hurt when Tom Petty died. He and his music was in my top ten favorites in Rock n Roll..-Tyr

When I was on the DAHLGREN back in the 80's. We used his music as Coming Home music entering port, and pulling alongside the pier to see our families.
It made EVERYBODY teary eyed!

I didn't even know he was still alive.

He has THE "gets stuck in your head all day song": Sweet Caroline. Been working my brain over since the 70s. And once it's there, you can only hope sleep will make it go away.

I saw him twice. Once at the Greek and once at the Forum. Great shows both.

Hot August Night is his best album, certainly the only one anyone need buy.

I like solitary man, girl you'll be a woman soon, and red red wine.

Used to like sweet Caroline until every piano bar in America bastardized it.

Now I'm not going to say 12-13 years old girls are mean, BUT ...

The pasty-skinned redhead girl's name is ... you guessed it! ... Caroline. And I blush around girls when the wind blows. So-o-o ... as the chicklets being what they are will do ... I got a serious tease job, complete with the little girly skip-rope song. I HATED them

Never really cared for Neil Diamond... couldn't tell you why... just never tripped my trigger.

One of the bigger stars though for sure.

Wouldn't wish Parkinson on anyone, he has my condolences.

what may be less obvious to some is that Neil's red red wine is Better than UB40 version

Now I have to listen to that, because the UB-40 version is very cool...
