If they invested $$$ into this, in addition to using it to go after Trump and to help Hillary - well then this would be HUGE. Hell, I already think it's a huge scandal, it's just being downplayed by the media. But you can only downplay things for so long. I think once you find money changing hands, then you can't cover any more.

I don't know what type of excuse will be used to try and make it seem like it's aok fro the FBI to pay someone, who is a dirt digger for the opposition - but I'm confident that Pete will let us know what at least one of those excuses. :)

REPORT: FBI Paid Steele’s Travel Expenses to Make Him Look Like an “Informant” Rather Than DNC Hack

Congressional investigators are looking into whether the FBI paid dossier author Christopher Steele’s travel expenses to D.C and Rome in order to make him look like an official “informant” rather than a DNC-paid oppo research operative before the FISA court.

Dossier author Christopher Steele is under siege right now after an 8-page criminal referral was filed with the DOJ by the Senate Judiciary Committee against him.

Christopher Steele and the dossier are central to the Russian collusion investigation. Disgraced FBI Deputy Director said under oath if it weren’t for the dossier, the FBI would have never sought the FISA warrant to spy on Trump’s camp.

According to the memo, Christopher Steele was paid over $160,000 by the DNC and Clinton campaign; this information was hidden from the FISC even though the DOJ and FBI both knew.

The memo also confirms the FBI authorized payment to Christopher Steele. Christopher Steele was later terminated by the FBI after they found out he lied about leaking to media outlets.

Steele traveled to Washington D.C. in September of 2016 and met with reporters. One of the meetings was held in the office of the DNC’s general counsel.

Christopher Steele also traveled to Rome in September of 2016 to meet with FBI officials.

Now Congressional investigators are looking into why the FBI agreed to pay Steele in the first place.

Grassley Memo Bombshell: Clinton Ally Fed Dirt to Trump Dossier Author Steele

A heavily redacted document released by the Senate Judiciary Committee Monday reveals that the former British spy who wrote the "dirty dossier" wrote an additional anti-Trump memo based on information collected by a Clinton ally.

This revelation and others are in the unclassified version of the January 4, 2018, criminal referral memorandum written by Republican Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC), which targets dossier author Christopher Steele. The unclassified version states that someone associated with the Clintons joined forces with the Obama administration to dig up dirt on then-candidate Trump.

Grassley, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, said in a speech on the Senate floor on January 24 that he and Senator Graham had identified conflicting statements made by Steele, and that the discrepancies were "significant."

According to the senators, the evidence suggests that either "Steele lied to the FBI about his contacts with the media (a violation of 18 USC 1001) -- or the FBI misrepresented Steele’s statements."

Grassley said that those discrepancies and contradicting statements are what led him to refer Christopher Steele to federal law-enforcement officials for criminal investigation.

Nunes: 'Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton Campaign Colluded with the Russians'

Rep. Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, declared Monday evening that there was "clear evidence of collusion" with the Russians -- but it was on the Democratic side.

During an appearance on Fox News' Hannity, Nunes blasted the mainstream media, calling their failure to report honestly on the growing scandal "embarrassing."

The California Republican also announced that his committee would be asking for the transcripts of the four surveillance requests from the FISA Court.

Nunes pointed out that no one in the mainstream media seemed bothered by the fact that the FBI knowingly used "political dirt" to open a counterintelligence investigation into a presidential campaign.

The fact that the mainstream media is "totally uninterested in this" Nunes said was a problem. "Can you imagine if the shoe was on the other foot?" he exclaimed.

As an example, he argued that if Donald Trump or President Bush or Karl Rove had paid for political dirt and then George W. Bush's FBI opened an counterintelligence investigation into the Obama campaign, "this town would be on fire." Nunes said: "Every reporter would be following around Karl Rove and George W. Bush all over town. Yet it's crickets from the media. It's embarrassing. It's absolutely embarrassing and I'm almost flabbergasted because I thought at least there would be some ounce of credibility left, but there really is none."
