National Rifle Association CEO Wayne Lapierre is defending the Second Amendment amid attacks on gun rights by the left in the wake of the Florida school shooting.
In a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, early Thursday, Lapierre accused Democrats of politicizing the tragedy and ignoring the role mental health as well as the failure of the FBI.
He also called for armed guards to be placed at every school, offered the organizations assistance in keeping schools safe, and dismissed the notion armed security makes Americans less safe as “completely ridiculous.”
Lapierre warned liberals are putting an anti-rights agenda ahead of school safety.

“The elites don’t care, not one wit about America’s school system and school children. If they truly cared, what they would do is they would protect them. For them, it’s not a safety issue. It’s a political issue. They care more about control and more of it. Their goal is to eliminate the Second Amendment and our firearms freedoms so they can eradicate all individual freedoms.” — Wayne Lapierre
The NRA CEO concluded his remarks by saying — quote — “to stop a bad guy with a gun–it takes a good guy with a gun.”

Can't argue with either one of those.
