The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee doesn’t think Democrats really wanted their counter-memo to be made public, saying it only bolsters the GOP’s argument.
On Sunday, Congressman Devin Nunes said the memo doesn’t answer key questions like why the court wasn’t notified the Clinton campaign and Democrats paid for the dossier.
Democrats released a redacted memo on Saturday in response to the Republican-drafted memo, alleging FISA abuses by the FBI and DOJ used to spy on former Trump campaign aid Carter Page.
Nunes says the new memo backs up the Republican memo, and is questioning why it took two weeks to release the heavily redacted document.
“It bolsters the case that we made, specifically on the FISA abuse that the court wasn’t notified that the Clinton campaign and the Democrats paid for this dirt — that ended up being phony — so just to sum up we have people defending the dirty dossier with their own dirty dossier,” stated Nunes.
The president initially blocked the release of the document over security concerns.
He followed up on those concerns, saying Democrats didn’t push too hard for the memo to be released, because it only confirmed the allegations of the Republican draft.

How anticlimactic. The "counter-memo" sucked so bad even the leftwingnut media has only covered it half-ass. The usual "the country is falling apart, chicken little" drama is missing.
