Gymnast Aly Raisman is suing the US Olympic Committee over former USA Gymnastics' team doctor Larry Nassar's sexual abuse, contending that the organization knew or should have known about his behavior, according to reports by NBC News on Friday.

In November, three-time Olympic gold medalist Raisman said she was sexually abused by Nassar, who was just sentenced in January to more than 170 years in prison on sexual assault charges.

If I'm a judge, I say no and throw it out. Reason being is the accusation itself based on her own statement in criminal court. The witnesses against Nassar testified they were too afraid or ashamed to report him.

How then can Raisman. or anyone, reasonably expect the Olympic Committee to "know or should have known"? Crystal ball?

I feel bad about anyone abused.

But what does the USOC know about it that would have not put a stop to it?

This is an "I feel good about leveling a lawsuit now".

Why was this not done when it happened?

Bunch of horseshit fed into this girl that should have stood forth at the very time all
this supposedly happened.
Guess what....the lawyers get rich.

The victim gets less than 50% of a suit if it even passes the stink test.

I don't see a need for a payday this far after the fact. Especially given the circumstances I outlined above. Without a crystal ball, what exactly was the IOC supposed to do about unreported and undetected crime? The second these girls came forward the dude was crucified, and rightly so.

So why did they not come forward at the time? Just a guess, but I'd say a shot at Olympic Gold is what happened. It's over, no more Gold, no more relevance, time to get back in the limelight and collect a payday or two. Harsh, but cynical as Hell I am.
