Wash. State Passes Bill To Ban Gay Conversion Therapy For Minors

UPDATED 8:45 AM PT — Mon. March 5, 2018Washington state’s legislature is moving to outlaw gay conversion therapy.
The state Senate passed a bill Saturday, banning licensed health care (http://www.oann.com/wash-state-passes-bill-to-ban-gay-conversion-therapy-for-minors/#) providers from trying to change the sexual orientation of minors.
Under the original legislation, providers who violated the law could face fines, suspension, or be stripped of their license.
Recent changes to the bill have also extended its enforcement to non-licensed counselors operating as a part of a religious organization.
The bill will now go to Governor Jay Inslee, who is expected to sign it into law.

I get the impression that if a minor boy thinks he's a girl, they want to outlaw any attempt at psychiatric counseling to help the kid realize he's a boy and not a girl.
