One of the hostages was high school classmate of my daughter. We are broken hearted.

A lone gunman and three female staff members of a Napa County veterans support program are dead after the gunman, a military veteran, stormed a building Friday at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville in a mid-morning siege, exchanging gunfire with law enforcement before holing up in a room in the building, authorities said.

My condolences. Not sure what all transpired with the shooter, who seemed to have had much trauma in his young life, but the loss of the innocents is no justification for what happened. Prayers for all the victims and survivors.

Sorry to hear that, Sassy.

Yountville of all places.....that is usually pretty mellow there.

There were less than 30 kids in their graduating class. I think there were less than 300 kids in the whole high school. Jennifer Golick was one of the outstanding ones.

Senseless shootings, whether school shootings or one like this, just break my heart. That it will inevitably turn into an argument for gun control or for further restrictions on vets because of PTSD or something, just adds to the injury.

My prayers for all the victims and their family and friends.

SORRY TO HEAR OF SUCH A TRAGIC AND SENSELESS ACT.
Life is precious but also fragile, fleeting and not to be taken for granted.
Evil exists in this world and no made made law will stop it.
The shooter,if suffering from a war related affliction is a victim as well.
Instead of the usual demands for more control, they should be demanding better and greater care for returning combat veterans, IMHO..
BUT INSTEAD THE LOUSY DEMS WILL USE THIS TRAGEDY TO FURTHER THEIR INSANE LIBERAL AGENDAS.-TYR

All the women were shot in head with rifle and he shot himself in head with shotgun. Pregnant woman's baby died from lack of oxygen ... so he killed 4 innocents that day.

They knew he was violent and there will be repercussions of them not being protected. They warned authorities he was violent.

:( Beyond sad, negligence.
