So the state with the 6th largest budget in the world yet highest poverty level in the US thinks it's a semi-separate country? I guess as far as violating Federal Law goes it IS a state in rebellion, but it ain't shit. Let's take away any and all Federal funding and aid and see where they sit.

...and the voters who keep them in power are probably worse than the officials. Again and again the majority of the population, or at least key portions thanks to gerrymandering, support terrible fiscal decisions by their representatives.
