UPDATED 11:08 AM PT — Mon. March 12, 2018The U.N. Human Rights Council is debating about what the historic summit between the U.S. and North Korea could mean.
Officials convened Monday at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
The meeting, in some ways, mirrored statements by the U.S. secretary general about growing progress for the countries on the political and security front.
However, it also shed light on brutal realities of the isolated regime, saying human rights must be a part of any dialogue with North Korea.
“The country’s extensive penitentiary system and severe restrictions on all forms of freedom of expression, movement and access to information continue to nurture fear of the state and leave people at the mercy of unaccountable public officials,” said Tomas Ojea Quintana, U.N. Human Rights Investigator.
The delegation of North Korea was not present in Geneva, but says it denies accusations of committing widespread human rights abuses against its people.
This comes after President Trump plans to become the first sitting U.S. president to meet face-to-face with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un for nuclear disarmament talks.

:wtf:

The UN, which rightly should be handling North Korea on its own, wants to sit back and wait until Trump goes through all the sh*t he has to finally get a dialogue with Un -- and you betcha I was right in there slinging it at him for the way he went about it and will do it exactly the same again -- but he got his dialogue or so we think at this point -- and that spineless, do-nothing UN wants to start dictating demands?

F*ck the UselessN. They can make their own deal. Fact is, North Korea began as a UN action using US bodies, and it has remained a UN action since the honor-less "cease-fire" it agreed to.

Trump needs to make a deal for the US (and the safety of the world) but NOT in the name of the UN. Let them take their pansy-ass powder blue helmets and, put a French Commander in charge and go surrender to Un for all I care.
