He also said the possible meeting with the recently re-elected Russian leader will be about the out-of-control arms race, but was firm in his stance that the U.S. remains stronger than any other nation.

Can't wait to see how this goes. Actually, BOTH meetings. The Saudi meeting very well could bring an end to the Iran Nuclear deal.

Money says the meeting with Putin will be inconclusive with a promise for another meeting :)

All of the Democrats who have claimed Trump is incapable of Foreign policy, and they insist he is mentally unfit...merely shows how Incapable, and Un-mentally fit they are.

Trump is a smart cookie. And everybody who says any different, have to be worried about their SNOWFLAKES melting to expose their Ignorance as SLUSH.

Trump knows, as a businessman. He has to face everyone, and anyone with whom he must deal with...for any reason. He Keeps His Word, and Does what he promised...and the LEFT simply can't handle that kind of HONESTY in politics.
Listen to how even MCCain the Pain is putting Trump down for calling Putin to congratulate him.
Truth is. Trump is just returning the call that Putin made to him on November 8th, 2016.
That is how Leaders negotiate. Not by throwing stones, but....by smiling, and being Human.

You can bet your sweet ass that Pres. Trump will NOT be bowing to any foreign leaders.

Maybe the Pope, which is appropriate, but no others!

I can hear it now if and when president Trump meets with Putin, as he SHOULD since they're BOTH WORLD LEADERS, it's their JOB to meet, but the DEMOCRAT PROPAGANDA WING is going to go absolutely apoplectic, hysterical, blood shooting out their eyes, vomiting fire in a hysterical, unhinged, epic melt down spewing scorched earth HORSE SHIT about what they talked about... just watch...

Like Putin or not, we are not in a state of war with Russia, and still maintain diplomatic ties. It is simple diplomacy for Trump to make the call, regardless how he or anyone else feels about Putin. One group was bitching about Trump not hammering Putin on human rights in Syria. Not the purpose of the call. The call was a simple congrats on your win. It would have been seen as a snub not to have made it.

Anyone who thinks otherwise obviously knows less about international diplomacy than I. That would qualify one as a dumbass extraordinaire considering my idea of diplomacy has a bayonet affixed to it :)

I have a New York Times front page of Kennedy winning election. It said Khrushchev called to congratulate him. Maybe Nikita was a capitalist.

and our relations were worse then than now I think.

and our relations were worse then than now I think. It's just considered proper. No matter what anyone thinks or suspects, the only provable thing against Putin is Crimea. The poison thing is under investigation. Russia is in Syria. So is the US. I'm not excusing anything, nor changing any of my views on Putin.

I used to have to salute officers I'd liked to have punched in the mouth. You salute the rank, not the man.
