Sure, go ahead and grant the reparations to any former slaves. Place it in the bill, that if any of the slaves are not alive and unable to collect, that the money goes back to the state - NOT to future family that never met them and were never a part of slavery. And have the bill give $1 trillion dollars to each that was alive and endured slavery. And that's it.

State Senator who said she hoped Trump would be assassinated calls for reparations for slavery

Missouri state senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal called for reparations for former slaves on Tuesday, and took a swipe at her own party’s US Senator in the same breath.

While declaring there’s “no difference” between white Democrats and Republicans, Chappelle-Nadal said that “neither one of them give a heck about the black community, only the votes.”

Chappelle-Nadal spoke from the Senate floor, saying that she listens to the needs of her constituents who aren’t benefitting from tax cuts. She also said the black children in her district are at a disadvantage; and the senator believes reparations would help, even though she recognizes legislation supporting it would likely never pass.

Recalling her own ancestors who were slaves in the state, Chappelle-Nadal pleaded: “In Boone County, Missouri, in Callaway County, Missouri what my family contributed to making the state what it is today is incredible, and my family deserves way more than what it is getting today.”

She went on to say she would like US Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) to call for reparations, and added that people in her district see McCaskill as a Republican.

Last year, Chappelle-Nadal came under fire after writing a Facebook post saying “I hope Trump is assassinated!” McCaskill issued a statement regarding the comments shortly thereafter: “I condemn it. It’s outrageous. And she should resign.”

While Chappelle-Nadal deleted her comment after posting it, the message was up long enough for it to be shared, and she eventually apologized: “Out of my anger and frustration, I put up a post that I should not have put up. That was inappropriate for me to do so.”

Calls for Chappelle-Nadal’s resignation continued to come from both sides of the aisle, and even Stephen Webber, chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party said, “State Sen. Chappelle-Nadal’s comments are indefensible. All sides need to agree that there is no room for suggestions of political violence in America – and the Missouri Democratic Party will absolutely not tolerate calls for the assassination of the president. I believe she should resign.”

In response, Chappelle-Nadal told CBS St. Louis: “There is no way in hell that I’m resigning. There are legislators who have cheated on their wives, they have smoked in the Legislature, in the state Capitol. If they have not been asked to resign for those acts, which I do believe that cheating on your wife or your spouse is immoral, I am not resigning for a mistake that I made and that I’m owning up to.”

US Senator McCaskill is facing what is projected to be a tough reelection campaign against Missouri’s current Republican Attorney General, Josh Hawley.

Fellow state senator Jamilah Nasheed (D-St. Louis) defended McCaskill, and expressed surprise that McCaskill would receive criticism from within her own party less than six months from Election Day. Nasheed was quoted by The Kansas City Star as saying, “I support Sen. McCaskill, 150 percent.”

At least the economy keeps chugging along with it's improvement, especially with jobs. :)

U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims Hold Below 300,000 for Longest Streak on Record

WASHINGTON—The number of Americans claiming new unemployment benefits has never been so low for so long.

Initial jobless claims, a proxy for layoffs across the U.S., decreased by 9,000 to a seasonally adjusted 233,000 in the week ended April 7, the Labor Department said Thursday. This means claims have now held below 300,000 for 162 consecutive weeks, cementing the longest streak for weekly records dating back to 1967.

The current streak eclipsed the previous longest stretch that ended in April 1970.

The consistently low claims levels point to labor market health because they mean relatively few Americans are losing their jobs and applying for benefits to tide them over until they can find new employment.

Folks are so concerned with Russia in Syria, and forget how much involvement Iran has there.

The Road to Damascus

The road to Damascus leads through Tehran. But, just as hardly anyone this side of General Flynn seems to agree that we are in a global war that threatens both our security and our survival as a free nation, hardly anyone can discuss Syria — which hardly exists — without grasping the essence of the matter.

Assad is only in power today because his Iranian supporters were losing to the ragtag opposition, and General Suleimani went to Moscow to beg for help. Putin was charmed by the request, and sent troops, trainers, materiel, and money to shore up the Damascus regime.

That is why the international sparring over Syria is between Trump and Putin, not Trump and Assad. The verbal fisticuffs should include Iran’s increasingly laughable “supreme leader,” Ali Khamenei, whose involvement in Syria is now openly challenged in his own country.

Khamenei has sent tens of thousands of Iranians and Iranian mercenaries to Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon. His failed and murderous regime, with Russia’s help, is responsible for the astonishing casualty, refugee, and death totals in Syria. Without the manpower Khamenei’s regime provides, there would be no debate over “what to do about Assad” because Assad would be gone.

That should have produced a winning strategy for the United States and our friends and allies: support regime change in Tehran, thereby pulling the plug on the Assad regime, depriving the Russians of cheap cannon fodder, and ending the Iranian funding of Hezbollah.

It has long been possible to subvert the failed mullahcracy. Most Iranians detest the regime. Keen-eyed mullahs and ayatollahs know this, and know that they will cease to matter to the majority of Iranians the minute the Islamic Republic falls. They all know, because they have heard the words from Washington, that Trump has no sympathy with the regime. Unlike Obama, he does not want a strategic alliance with Tehran. He prefers Jerusalem and Jedda. As do most Iranians.

And yet another reason how you know that it was a horrid decision - the aclu agrees with such conduct. Personally, whether one hates Trump or not - I think the precedent being set here is stunning and far reaching.

ACLU Celebrates Raid on Trump’s Lawyer: ‘The Rule of Law is Alive’

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has published an article celebrating the FBI raid on Donald Trump’s personal lawyer as a victory for the rule of law — not a violation of attorney-client privilege and the president’s constitutional rights.

Earlier this week, the FBI raided attorney Michael Cohen’s office, apartment, and hotel room, seizing materials that included communications from Trump to his lawyer. The government typically cannot have access to those communications. In cases where it is necessary to study such communications, the FBI establishes a supposedly independent “taint team” that sifts through the material and, theoretically, only passes on evidence to prosecutors that does not violate attorney-client privilege.

However, critics allege that there is great potential for abuse, especially in a politically-charged case like this. They point out that such raids on attorneys are very rare, and argue that the president’s Fourth Amendment right to privacy, Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, and Sixth Amendment right to counsel have been compromised.

Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, one of the country’s foremost defense lawyers and a civil libertarian who supported Hillary Clinton for president, condemned the raid.

We find "proof" that it was Syria, at the same time I find out proof was released that Russia committed the attack in the UK. I believe the latter much quicker. I'm still not sold on who committed the attack in Syria, but am getting closer and closer to believing it was Assad, as the evidence is going against him.

No war - no boots - just smart bomb the shit out of a shit ton of their installations and communications.

France Says They Have Proof Syria Used Chemical Weapons

Dozens of people died when bombs filled with toxic chemicals were dropped on the town of Douma Saturday. President Bashar al-Assad denied his government had anything to do with it. French President Emmanuel Macron, however, says he has proof.

"We have proof that last week chemical weapons, at least chlorine, were used by the regime of Bashar al-Assad," according to the French leader.

Macron is debating whether this latest information justifies an airstrike on Syria. He will decide "in due course."

President Trump is also strongly considering an airstrike. He tweeted this week that a military action was imminent, though he walked it back a bit Thursday.

Why is Sessions getting paid? I have no problem with Mueller and an investigation into any Russian collusion - but he is out of control and investigating so much more.

Joe DiGenova: Mueller Is Destroying the DOJ – For Sessions to Sit Like a Bump on a Log Is DISGRACEFUL

Former US Attorney for the District of Columbia Joe DiGenova joined Sean Hannity on Wednesday to discuss the latest predawn raid by the FBI and Mueller Special Counsel on Donald Trump’s attorney’s home to look for porn star documents and Access Hollywood p*ssy tapes.

DiGenova says Jeff Sessions needs to fire Rod Rosenstein TOMORROW!

Joe DiGenova: Mueller now has no legitimacy. The tactics that they have chosen to use against the President of the United States, against whom there is no evidence of a crime and never has been from the beginning, the use of those tactics has delegitimized the investigation… Robert Mueller, Rod Rosenstein and Christopher Wray are doing mortal damage to the institutions they represent… I have to tell you that what Bob Mueller is doing and has done is destroying the Department of Justice. And for Jeff Sessions to sit there like a bump on a log and do nothing about it is disgraceful.

THIS is reality. They, in addition to local authorities, have dropped the ball and failed to get off their asses to prevent actual massacres. But their surely on the ball in stepping on the rights of an attorney and his client AND that client being the president. But never mind doing your jobs for simple little things like kids talking about shooting up schools.

FBI IGNORES WARNINGS on Boston Bombers – Nikolas Cruz – Omar Mateen… But Executes Pre-Dawn Raid For Trump ‘P*ssy’ Tape

The FBI sure has their priorities straight.

It seems like every time there is a terrorist attack or a mass shooting we hear later the suspects were being monitored by the FBI prior to the attack.

The FBI always has a plethora of excuses as to why they failed to thwart yet another mass shooting or terrorist attack.

Oddly enough, the FBI found it necessary to raid Trump’s personal lawyer’s home at 6 AM for dirt on Stormy Daniels and Trump’s ‘grab her by the p*ssy’ “Hollywood Access” tape.

Reparations again? O.K. I will give in. Find me a slave owner from 200-400 years ago still alive and make him pay up!

Here are some reparations you can sink your greedy teeth into:

How about reparations for the domestic, private, and public property damaged, burned, and ruined in the Ferguson riots?
How about the looting and injury in those riots? That was just this decade so it should be more appropriate, don't you think?
Oh, Yeah...but it was blacks doing it! So not gonna see any thing come of that, are we?
That was in YOUR Missouri Chappelle-Nada!

Slavery? How about modern day slavery? Aren't street prostitutes mostly slaves to some pimp? Why not reparations
to those modern day slaves? Again, largely black pimps, so not gonna see it happen.

How about the addicted slaves to a drug dealer? Aren't they deserving reparations? They are modern day slaves
as well.

Reparations! Hog wash! Go to the tribes that sold their enemies into slavery back in the good old Africa
the blacks like to hyphenate American with. Get them to pay up.
