I am an avid writer. I've done hundreds of short stories and poems. I am now in the process of writing my first full-length novel.

I need some ideas. I'm looking to do a something about a historic battle. I would prefer it be something where a force was outnumbered (wether they win or lose isn't of importance) but any battle will do. All I ask is the battle not be one that is famous or popular. Country or era isn't of concern.

Any ideas?

Try looking in google, but one i like, is the romans, against the jews, we didnt win, but we denied them a victory.

Try the library or ask.com

those are the best two resouces i can think of, oh and what about the 100 years war?

Wouldn't your rather write about a single mother who moves to Phoenix with her son and works as a waitress? The main character's name could be Alice or Shattered. She could also have delusions about being a singer, but that's optional.

As original as that sounds I'm going to have to pass on that one.

How about the WWII Battle of Sevastopol.

Have you any particular time frame in mind? Or a particular nationality?

There's the Crimean War, The Boor War, The Zulu War. Many of the battles of Napoleon that aren't common knowledge. Tippecanoe, Ticonderoga, Vera Cruz, Breeds Hill (More commonly known as Bunker Hill).

Or do you want more obscure wars like the first war with Korea back in 1876. Or there abouts.

How about a chess game? It's not a huge stretch of the imagination to write as if the pieces are soldiers in a real army.

I'm open to anything. I plan on taking the battle, selecting a person or group from that battle, create some storylines and write a graphic novel.

Here's some ideas I have.

- Battle of New Orleans (War of 1812)
- Battle of the 300 Champions
- Battle of Leuctra (marked the decline of Sparta)
- Battle of Changping
- Battle of Julu
- Battle of Tao River
- Battle of Vercellae
- Battle of Kunyang
- Battle of Guan Du
- Battle of Chibi
- Vikings (sometime between 800-1050)
- Something to do with Spain encountering vicious South American tribes.

That could lead to an interesting story.

Awesome idea. That fits my South American tribe/Spanish battle perfectly.

Gotta be careful not to make it sound like a porno book! :laugh2:

(Just kidding: I really do understand the reference.)

Ok.

I have lots of ideas, though. Like the one about the ex-relief pitcher for the Boston Red sox, who buys a bar. People sit around drinking, being served by two kwirky waitresses. It could be adapted for tv too. :laugh2:

They stole every single one of them by force, it took charles de martel of france to stop them.

can u help me with links please
