UPDATED 6:04 AM PT — Fri. May 11, 2018Singapore is gearing up to host the highly-anticipated summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Among other possible venues, the city state’s Shangri-La Hotel is believed to be a top contender thanks to its experience (http://www.oann.com/singapore-prepares-for-north-korea-summit/#) hosting high-profile meetings between heads of state.
Local residents say the summit will help promote Singapore internationally, and boost its reputation as a peacemaker.
“It just brings into prominence the fact (http://www.oann.com/singapore-prepares-for-north-korea-summit/#) that Singapore has this big role to play in bringing together global peace, so a small traffic jam is a very minor price to pay for it,” said Singaporean Shivakumar S.
Singapore has a population of about 5.5 million people, and won the right to host the summit over more traditional options like Switzerland.

Call me my usual, paranoid Gunny self but no f-n way if I'm Trump do I trap myself in that city. He will be a total sitting duck. And yes, been to Singapore, got the Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt. His security staff must be going nuts

Singapore?

Can we arrange to have Kim caned?I'd like to see the emergency escape plan. You get in the middle of those high rises and it best be go to the roof and catch a bird. You get trapped on the ground in that city and you can just bend over and kiss it.

Ya... I've never been there but I've read plenty about Singapore. When I heard this I went... "whaaaaaaaaa... ?"There are 2 ways out. One, by air (helo). Two, you have to get to the port IF you have a ship there. Long ride, narrow roads, easily blocked. I'm sure they have an airport somewhere, but again, long ride, narrow roads.

Should have gone the Switzerland route. The Swiss don't take any crap off anyone. And it's a LONG way from the Far East/SE Asia.
