UPDATED 8:30 AM PT — Wed. May 30, 2018President Trump recently said he wishes he had appointed someone other than Jeff Sessions as attorney general. This comes as he continues to lament Sessions’s recusal from the Russia investigation.

In a series (http://www.oann.com/president-trump-wishes-he-picked-someone-else-as-attorney-general/#) of tweets Wednesday morning, the president quoted GOP Congressman Trey Gowdy’s explanation of why he thinks the president is upset with the recusal.
During an interview Tuesday, Gowdy was asked whether the president’s actions during the probe constituted obstruction of justice.
Gowdy responded, saying he believes the president is only expressing frustration that Sessions should have told him the reasons he would recuse before he accepted the job.
Gowdy added, he doesn’t know what’s inspiring people to speak out against him regarding his recent comments on the Mueller probe.
He stated those who have seen the evidence on the Senate Intelligence Committee agree with his assessment on the legitimacy of the investigation.

I don't know why Trump hasn't gotten rid of him. The President of the US is under legal attack and his highest ranking legal adviser recuses himself. That's just bullshit. I haven't seen Sessions do much of anything but make speech circuits.

I also want to know on what grounds the FBI's investigation of a political candidate is legal. WHO applied for the FISA warrants fraudulently? The FBI is (not) saying they didn't know the warrants weren't up to snuff and it's being believed?

Where's our transparency in government and some answers? Yo don't just ME "trust us because we said so". That goes over with ME like a lead balloon. This farce needs to come to an end. It's annoying me.

It's been time for RudyI've been calling for Sessions' head for a year at least. Trump may as well have kept Obama's AG for all the help Sessions has been.

I saw this story on twitter and simply replied... "SO DO I."

Sessions has been an utter FAILURE from day one. Trump has some kind of angle he playing by not firing Sessions. Rush Limbaugh thinks it could be that he can play the victim, and that's good for ginning up the base. IDK myself. If I was president, Sessions would have been gone long ago.... and Rosenstein, and Mueller, and God only knows who else. I'd have cleaned friggin' house.

Sessions, if fired by Trump, can't be replaced.

The GOP in the Senate have made it clear that if he fires Session, the Senate will not ratify any nominee that Trump makes.

That leaves Rosenstein as Acting AG, and Trump does not want that at all.

Collins, Graham, Rubio, and McCain (either John, or his successor, wife Cindy) will join the Democrats and block any ratification of a new AG. And I think Mitch McTurtle would have no trouble with that.

The President has been told to leave Sessions, Rosenstein, and Mueller alone.

McLame is done, gone, and no one TELLS president Trump what to do. If he WANTED to fire Sessions, he would, period, end of story.

He's got an angle. He isn't for a reason. His instincts tell him he can benefit from not firing Sessions... at this time.
