OAN NewsroomUPDATED 7:00 AM PT – Sat. June 2, 2018California’s gas (http://www.oann.com/gas-tax-repeal-driving-calif-voters-to-the-polls/#) tax is set to be a deciding factor, as Golden State voters go to the polls next week (http://www.oann.com/gas-tax-repeal-driving-calif-voters-to-the-polls/#).
It’s an issue which has been driving up support for Republican candidates, who are backing efforts to repeal the tax.

Bleeding the people dry. Brown is an idiot. There's a reason Ca is the richest economy in the US? That so. Before you subtract the deficit? Is that why people are leaving in droves?

I'd have to live in a box to pay taxes there. When I was stationed there, I shopped on base as much as possible. I had already accepted a house in Wire Mtn nase housing so my rent and utilities was going to come off the CA economy as well. I retired instead :)

California is a toilet.Kinda. It's a nice place in and of itself. The government and the goofball lefties are what needs to be flushed. I living in the desert there but I was far, FAR away from the fruits and nuts on the Coast.

Good GAWD.Seriously, you couldn't afford to live there. Maybe someone with a NYC or Chicago income could but on what you make where you are right now? You'd be REAL poor. I'd be homeless. Between gasoline and vehicle taxes, city, state and county taxes, federal income tax and state income tax, rent, utilities and the cost of living? You're putting out over $2k a month. And that's for a little apartment. An average home that goes for about $120K here is about $400K there.

And they have a tax and/or fine for EVERYTHING. All of these pro-illegal alien dummies I guess don't realize THEY are paying for them.

Chicago isn't far behind:

The combined sales tax rate for Chicago, IL is 10.25%. This is the total of state, county and city sales tax rates. The Illinois state sales tax rate is currently 6.25%. The Cook County sales tax rate is 1.75%.

Chicago isn't far behind:Interesting.

Total combined sales take rate in SATX is 8.25%. That includes state, county and city.

State sales tax is 6.25%. County is ZERO. So 2% is San Antonio City tax.

We have no state income tax.

If I felt like it I could shop on base at the commissary and exchange. It's not THAT far. No state sales tax at all, but they have a "surcharge" that I'm not sure what-all it amounts to.

You can pay a mortgage here on a two-story 4 bedroom, two bath, 2-car garage and yard for less than you can rent a 2 bedroom apartment in SoCal.
