Released Back To Work Part Time

Well my doctor has released me back to work at a maximum of 20 hours a week until I can have surgery. She doesn't think it will do anything but cause me pain, but hell I want to go back to work. I got my old job back at the big events center up in Reno on the UNR campus. It's a Security job working major concerts etc. Basically getting paid to watch concerts as at this point I will mostly be escorting who ever is performing as breaking up fights or dealing with assholes is probably a bad idea until I have surgery. It's only about 4 hours per event or so so I think ill be ok.

It's been 3 years since i've been able to work and it's great to funally be able to go back. I have to work the Rocky Horror Picture Show Live this weekend, Then the UNR football games and the Korn concert so far. I just know there will be shithead's at all these events, I think Korn will be the worst although the football games are usually pretty bad. My normal position has at the games is in the Cheerleader section making sure noone tries to get to them, it's a great assignment :) I think the RHPS wont be much of a problem just guys cross dressing and nudity.

Congrats Nevada. My best bud growing up was 6-4 220# and he developed back problems from his job in his early 20's. This guy was an avid hiker/ backpacker/ basketball player, not to mention could fight like an Irishman, which he is.

I worked yesterday and today. Thats how I got to meet the candidates. It's amazing to watch the prep before they get there. UNR Police, WCSO and RPD took control of the events center at about 9:30 AM and did whats called a sweep. I have never seen so many cops and dogs in my life and was really interesting to watch. The were looking for bombs or anything else that shouldn't be there. Then UNR PD stayed at every exit and entrance. We were pretty much each put with an officer to help them. I was one of the only ones able to be alone at first. There was only one problem. One guy that Jeremy(I got him hired there) ejected tried coming around back. I was working the back door stationed to let the candidates in and to take them to the UNR PD officers right inside. The guy comes up to me and tries to get in and I stopped him. Then the asshole looks at me and says you realize I am over twice your size and I will walk right over you. Im like hold on a second will you I waved my hand at the back door(they are one was glass. 4 Cops and a K-9 walked out. I told him he would get pased me but then he would have to deal with them :laugh2: Once he saw the K-9 he walked away. Then the stupid ass walks to the front and tries to get them so UNR PD detain him and escort him off property. That was the only problem yesterday and today.

Today was nothing. New student orientation with their families. So we were pretty much directing people. We had UNR student volunteers helping us so we pretty much just hung out. I got lucky and got stationed with a serority and needless to say it was hard to get any work done. One of them had a rack that looks like it was going to rip her shirt. I felt bad because we talked a lot and well I never made eye contact with her! :laugh2: I think she knew that and was trying to torment me. Damn women.

Last time I was at the Lawlor Event Center, I was there to attend the Victim Impact Panel, and I got a $1,132.00 ticket for driving after rev. Did I mention I hate cops?

No, like revoked. Under a suspension you can get your DL back by just going in and paying a little reinstatement fee. The other you have to take both the written and driving tests all over again, and most always have to also file an SR-22, proof of insurance form for two years to follow... which I won't have to do.

I paid top dollar for one of the best traffic lawyers in town. He got my DUI reduced to careless driving, and the DMV DL revocation that came with it, he got DISMISSED! So, the driving after revocation ticket I got, I really shouldn't have gotten it in the first place, and I fully expect that to just go away. Sure this lawyer has cost me a ton of money, but what he's done for me in the long run will be more than worth it.

How much have I paid him so far you may wonder.... $5,000.00.

Actually no... but if you figure in the huge increase in insurance premiums, and for how long they would have stayed in affect, it's way cheaper then, big time.

But not only that, usually when you get a DUI you go to jail. I never went to jail. I was strapped to a back board, and that's part of the reason my lawyer got the DUI reduced and the revocation dismissed. Something about administering and breathalyzer test to someone while strapped down. They didn't have reasonable reason to administer the test. They didn't do a field sobriety test, I wasn't slurring my speech, they didn't detect the smell of alcohol, I never staggered even though I'd just head butted an SUV at 30 miles an hour, nothing. The "ambulance driver" said he "thought" he could smell beer. Bullshit. That just didn't cut it in court. But alone with the jail time for a DUI, you lose your DL for 90 days, and that I did. But the driving after rev ticket was, and I say "was" a $500 fine, MANDATORY 30 days in jail, and your DL is revoked for a YEAR. Won't do any of that either.

I tell ya... if you're ever so unfortunate as to get any of these tickets, do yourself a favor. Get a damn good lawyer. Don't cry about how much money it's going to cost, just pay it. You WILL be glad you did.

How much have I paid him so far you may wonder.... $5,000.00.That sucks, but at least you learned to keep between the lines fairly quickly. I got a good friend who paid 4 times that. He was really fucked up, got 3 DUIs, lost his job. I had to hire him on to keep him solvent.
