UPDATED 10:00 AM PT — Tues. Sept. 25, 2018The Los Angeles Police Department is cracking down on voter fraud in the city’s infamous “skid row.”
According to an exclusive report by a local ABC affiliate in Los Angeles, lobbyists are paying homeless people in the community to fake signatures for ballot measures in the state.

Authorities said “skid row” is where the majority of the voter fraud happens in the city and has been going on for years.
Local media spoke with one officer who has patrolled the area for two decades and talked about why this is such a tough issue for the department to tackle.
“They were charged with a felony, but unfortunately — for a reason unbeknownst to me — it was reduced to a misdemeanor, so of course the message gets sent that it’s no big deal and as a result these guys come back,” said Officer Deon Joseph.
