It appears to be 2 unrelated incidents, but both scary by themselves. And of course makes you wonder, the timing of course.

The first, tested POSITIVE for ricin at the Pentagon. Looks like they were addressed for "James Mattis" and Chief of Naval Operations - "John Richardson". Hopefully in some manner they will be able to trace back either one of these and have someone go visit Bill Cosby.

Mail Delivered to Pentagon Tests Positive for Ricin Poison

A developing report says mail delivered to the Pentagon’s mail facility tested positive for ricin on Tuesday.

Local news affiliate FOX 5 DC says that the mail did not enter the Pentagon, according to U.S. officials. Both Pentagon Force Protection and Federal Bureau of Inspection (FBI) agents are on scene for additional testing of received mail.

At this time, Pentagon personnel have not been evacuated from the premises.

A Pentagon spokesman says authorities found at least two packages suspected of containing ricin, a poison made from castor beans.

Spokesman Chris Sherwood said the FBI was investigating and few details were available. He said the packages had been found Monday at a delivery facility that is on the Pentagon grounds but not inside the main building that includes the offices of the defence secretary.

Sherwood said the packages were addressed to a person at the Pentagon. He would not reveal the name.

Ricin is part of the waste “mash” produced when castor oil is made. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, if it is made into a partially purified material or refined, ricin can be used as a weapon capable of causing death under certain circumstances.

According to CNN national security reporter Ryan Browne, the packages were addressed to Defense Secretary James Mattis and Chief of Naval Operations John Richardson.

Two Hospitalized After White Powdery Substance Sent to Cruz Campaign Office

HOUSTON, Texas — Two people at the campaign office of Texas Senator Ted Cruz are hospitalized after a white powdery substance arrived on Tuesday.

Houston Fire Department officials evacuated the ninth floor of the Phoenix Tower, the location of Senator Cruz’s re-election campaign office headquarters. The FBI is conducting an investigation into who sent the package, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Following an investigation by Houston Fire Department HazMat crews, firefighters determined that no hazardous substance was found, FOX26 Houston reported.

Two people complained of nausea and tingling before being transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment, KPRC NBC2 in Houston reported. Campaign Spokeswoman Christine Frazier told the local news outlet that the suspicious material arrived via the U.S. Postal Service. The USPS is also joining the investigation.

KTRK ABC13 reported that the two people who were transported to the hospital do not work for the Cruz campaign.

And now apparently one addressed to the President as well. Now I would assume that they are all tied together somehow, would be too much of a coincidence for it not to be.

Secret Service Intercepts Package with Suspected Ricin Addressed to President Trump

The Secret Service confirmed Tuesday evening that it intercepted a package suspected of containing ricin addressed to President Donald Trump.

“The Secret Service can confirm receipt of a suspicious envelope addressed to the President on Oct. 1, 2018. The envelope was not received at the White House, nor did it ever enter the White House,” the Secret Service said in a statement. “As a matter of practice, the Secret Service does not comment regarding matters of Protective Intelligence. However, in this instance, we can confirm that we are working jointly with our law enforcement partners to fully investigate this matter.”

As reported earlier Tuesday, authorities at a Pentagon mail screening facility found two envelopes suspected of containing ricin, a poison made from castor beans, and turned them over to the FBI for further analysis.

One envelope was addressed to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, who is traveling in Europe this week, and the other to the Navy’s top officer, Adm. John Richardson, a defense official said. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the official wasn’t authorized to speak publicly ahead of FBI’s release of its findings.

Neither envelope entered the Pentagon. The mail screening facility is on the Pentagon grounds but separate from the main building.

Pentagon spokesman Chris Sherwood said the envelopes had been found on Monday.

Another Pentagon spokesman, Col. Rob Manning, said all U.S. Postal Service mail received at the screening facility on Monday is under quarantine and “poses no threat to Pentagon personnel.”
