Suspected mail bomber was a stripper with a ‘steroid problem’

The Florida man charged with sending at least 13 mail bombs was a fitness-obsessed male stripper who dreamt of becoming a professional wrestler, according to a new report Friday.

Cesar Sayoc Jr. traveled to jiggle joints across the country during the 1990s, Ohio event promoter Tony Valentine told the Washington Examiner.

Valentine said the 56-year-old was a “big muscle head” who “wanted to be a professional wrestler — that was his dream.”

“He really couldn’t find his niche in life, and I guess he found it now,” Valentine told the Examiner. “Back in the nineties, he was running around from Minnesota to the Carolinas to Florida. He was like a gypsy.”

“He would show up and do an individual act and leave,” he added. “He was dancing for a guy out in Oklahoma, too.”

Valentine vouched for Sayoc in his grand theft auto case in 2014 — when Sayoc was employed as a strip club manager while also dancing at an all-male strip club.

And apparently he terrorized folks online before going psycho in real life.

Jim Carrey, Ron Howard Among Celebrities Threatened on Twitter by Mail Bomb Suspect

Twitter accounts linked to the man arrested for allegedly sending mail bombs to an ever-growing list of Trump critics previously threatened a number of celebrities and politicians on Twitter. In at least one case, the social media company seems to have declined to take steps against such a threat.

A Twitter spokesperson declined to comment Friday, referring to the issue as “an ongoing law enforcement investigation.”

Law enforcement officials identified the suspect of the mail bombing campaign as Cesar Altieri Sayoc, a Florida resident. Soon after the arrest, Twitter users began to unearth two accounts featuring selfies of the suspect, including a video that was likely taken at a Trump rally.

Sayoc apparently used these accounts to directly threaten a number of actors and politicians, including Jim Carrey, Ron Howard, Rob Reiner, George Soros, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and others.

A number of those threats included screen grabs from news stories about murders, plane crashes and other violent incidents, while others featured gory imagery of decapitated animals. “Not option no way out silence no shots, no traces like never existed,” the suspect wrote in a tweet directed at Warren. Other tweets ended with the line “Hug your loved ones real close every time you leave your home.”

Fox News contributor Rochelle Ritchie said Friday that she reported such a tweet by the suspect earlier this month — only to be told by Twitter that “there was no violation of the Twitter Rules against abusive behavior.”

Who is Cesar Sayoc, the Florida man arrested in the mail pipe bomb case?

The South Florida man arrested in connection with suspected explosive packages had a long criminal history, including a previous arrest in Miami-Dade for making a bomb threat.

Here is what’s known about the suspect:

According to his Facebook page, Cesar Sayoc, 56, is from Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in Florida, where he attended North Miami Beach Senior High and has been registered to vote in Miami-Dade as a Republican since 2012. Federal sources said Sayoc lived in Aventura at the time of his arrest.

Sayoc appears to have been an avid Trump supporter. His van, which was seized by federal agents, was covered in pro-Donald Trump and right wing stickers. Photos on his Facebook page shows Sayoc wearing a red Make American Great Again baseball cap. He also posted multiple videos from a Trump rally. His Facebook feed is a mishmash of pro-Trump news stories, racist memes and fake news about Democrats. Popular targets include Islam — which one meme calls “a barbaric evil cult” — and Hillary Clinton.

“Hilary Clinton health decline and headed to graveyard where she has had many executed. The lord delivering death and America will celebrate,” he wrote in September 2016.
