Middle East turmoil could cause world war: U.S. envoy Mon Aug 27, 6:57 AM ET

VIENNA (Reuters) - Upheaval in the Middle East and Islamic civilization could cause another world war, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations was quoted as saying in an Austrian newspaper interview published on Monday.

Zalmay Khalilzad told the daily Die Presse the Middle East was now so disordered that it had the potential to inflame the world as Europe did during the first half of the 20th century.

"The (Middle East) is going through a very difficult transformation phase. That has strengthened extremism and creates a breeding ground for terrorism," he said in remarks translated by Reuters into English from the published German.

"Europe was just as dysfunctional for a while. And some of its wars became world wars. Now the problems of the Middle East and Islamic civilization have the same potential to engulf the world," he was quoted as saying.

This guy seems to have some opinions about the war also.

Not just in MY mind...in the minds of Free-thinkers EVERYWHERE:

IGNOBLE AWARD WINNER: REUTERS

With over 200 news bureaus worldwide, Reuters stakes its claim as "the largest international multi-media news agency." Though Reuters' own editorial policy claims the agency's reporters "do not offer subjective opinion," and intend merely "to enable readers and viewers to form their own judgement," in fact Reuters' coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is flagrantly biased against Israel. Some examples from 2003:

* In January, Reuters blamed Israel for "killing" Palestinian suicide bombers:

Iraq has paid millions of dollars to families of Palestinians, including those of suicide bombers, killed by Israeli forces since the start of the uprising in September 2000.

* As Israel prepared to build a wall to protect worshippers at Rachel's Tomb in Bethlehem, Reuters published this headline:

"Israel to Split Christ's Birthplace with Barrier"

To emphasize its (completely external) point, Reuters repeated the word "Christ" or "Christian" in each of the article's first four sentences.

* On Nov. 18, two Israeli soldiers were killed outside Bethlehem and a number of Palestinians were wounded in Gaza. Reuters had pictures of both events, but journalists who subscribe to Reuters' photo service were encouraged to publish the Palestinian victims in this email (emphasis added):
http://www.honestreporting.com/images/gazavictim.jpg (http://www.honestreporting.com/articles/critiques/2003_Dishonest_Reporting_-Award-.asp)
Dear User of the Reuters Pictures Archive,

Please find below a single picture presentation showing two Palestinians rushing a wounded Palestinian to hospital in the Rafah refugee camp in the southern part of the Gaza strip, November 18, 2003 :

* When Palestinian terrorist groups announced a hudna with the PA, Israel was not a party in the agreement, and the official road map demanded a full disarming of terror groups ― not a temporary hudna cease-fire. Yet Reuters took the opportunity to vilify Israel with the headline:

"Israel Pours Scorn on Truce With Militants"

And when Israel did show flexibility for Palestinian demands, above and beyond the roadmap's requirements? On Nov. 3, Reuters reported that Israel reinstated 15,000 Palestinian work permits, and included this comment in a news report:

150,000 Palestinians [previously] made a living in Israel, so Sunday's restoration of 15,000 Israeli work permits is still only a drop in the ocean.

Actually, 15,000 was fully 10%, and a risky loosening of anti-terror policy. Even the Palestinian official quoted by Reuters called it "an important step."

Why would you say an organization started by a jewish man is jew hating because they wont censor their news to make Isreal look better?

Is it rueters responsibility to censor anything that is not possitive about any country?

You see you people dont want the whole truth and nothing but the truth you want censored news.
just go to Fox and watch it and you will get what you want.
Done expect the rest of the world to join you in your censorship.

You see if you refuse to read bad news you end up uniformed and end up making very bad decisions like invading a country thinking they have WMDS when they dont.

Operates? It's run by 4 or 5 British University Students. Aish HaTorah helped them develop

It was Yom Kippur, 2000. The Intifada had just broken out and a huge wave of terror had suddenly descended upon Israel. The media in Europe was twisting the story to brand Israel as a bad guy! Jews in the UK were in shock and felt under attack. A few idealists decided enough was enough.

"So there were 4 or 5 of us British university students, kicking ideas around, frustrated and wondering what we could do to help Israel. We came up with the idea of encouraging thousands of e-mails to some of the publications in order to make our complaints heard. But in order to create an email protest, we had to have a website. Otherwise people couldn't respond, and we couldn't communicate with a base of supporters. So we just decided to go ahead and do it: design a simple, basic website. The whole project took only a couple of weeks – you know, when you have 4 or 5 people working together, all of whom are really committed, you can get almost anything done."

"Choosing a name took a lot of discussion. At the time, really short, snappy names were in. So for a time, some of us thought that 'HonestReporting' was too long. We wanted something shorter, punchier. We talked and talked, but eventually 'HonestReporting', long as it was, seemed the best. It was both descriptive and accurate. So we went with it. Later, we all agreed it was a good choice."

"We only ran the project for three or four months, just got it off the ground. Then we turned it over to the people running it now. It had to go professional to reach its full potential."

In early 2001, those first volunteers turned to the Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah to help build a website, develop materials and grow the subscriber base even further. Later that year, the project, having grown to become a major organization in its own right, was established as a US non-profit organization (501c3) with an Independent Board of Directors.

Two years later, HonestReporting Canada (HRC) was founded as an independent, non-profit organization headquartered in Toronto, Canada. In February of 2006, under a fresh management team, HonestReporting was granted independent Charitable Organization status in Israel to complement its US and Canadian status.

In March 2006, HonestReporting UK was launched under the guidance of the team's two ex-pat Britons; Joe Hyams, Managing Director, and Simon Plosker, Senior Editor. HonestReporting UK expects to achieve UK Registered Charity Status with an Independent Board in due course.

reuters has been found to have more than 40 doctored photos. Not just one. It was done by multiple people. Their stories are always about civilians being killed. But never Israeli citizens. And those civilians are always killed around a rocket site, though that is left out of the story as well.

A prime example is the woman holding to rounds in her hand saying they hit her house. When the rounds had obviously not been fired. It was a photoshop job along with lying journalism.
