Carriers, and Pilots get most of the attention in video's. But, the backbone of all that makes it work....are the Men, and Women who are behind the scenes, working sometimes, 20 hour days, for up to six, or more months, away from home.

There is a reason I didn't join the Navy.... lol.

Hats off to those that did/do...

My dad was a boatswains (yeah I know.. pronounced "Bosuns") mate aboard the USS Massacheussetts during WWII so I get it.

Having been raised in the military. Having a Marine for a neighbor in housing at one time. Dad working joint services most of his career and a lot of his friends were squids. And all the reading and crap I did that I would know one simple little thing about they Marine Corps:

It's part of the Navy and Marines deploy on ships. Nope. NOT F-ING CLUE ONE!!! I must have cut class when they covered THAT minor detail. :laugh2:

I got a quick lesson it though :)

I was accused, and labeled as the Navigator for Noah's Ark, and the Special Effects Man for Moses when he Crossed the RED SEA. Not to mention how they asked me what it was like to catch the Whale that swallowed...JONAH.

I was much older than most all of the crew, except for the C.O. and Master Chief. Retired from active duty in 95, at 48 years old. They called me Pops, and Tombstone because I looked like Sam Elliot with the white mustache.

Gunny hated "Floats"...as most Marines called trips, or deployments on Amphibious ships.
