Transgender Runners Take 1st and 2nd in Connecticut High School Track Championships

Several transgender students have dominated high school track and field competitions in Connecticut for the last few years. And, once again, transgender teen runner Andraya Yearwood has topped most of the field in the state championships.

Yearwood has been running for Cromwell High School in Cromwell, CT, for the past few seasons, the Washington Times reported.

But this year, Yearwood was not alone in topping the field. Indeed, two transgender students took the top spots in The Nutmeg State. Yearwood came in second place this year as transgender student Terry Miller of Bloomfield High beat Yearwood and the rest of the biologically female field of competitors.

But, as the Times reported, some in Connecticut are objecting to the situation.

“We all know the outcome of the race before it even starts; it’s demoralizing,” biologically female teen runner Selina Soule said. “I fully support and am happy for these athletes for being true to themselves. They should have the right to express themselves in school, but athletics have always had extra rules to keep the competition fair.”

Soule’s point of fairness was also recently raised by tennis great Martina Navratilova. The multiple Wimbledon winner said males should not be allowed to compete against females. No matter how many hormones they take or how much surgery they’ve had, they are still males born with a male’s strength and physical traits, she said.

Navratilova wrote a long op-ed revealing her feelings against transgender athletes being allowed acceptance under their chosen gender, calling the idea that men can compete as women “insane” and “cheating.” But her candor and considered opinion were too much for the gay advocacy group, Athlete Ally.

Athlete Ally released a statement last week accusing Navratilova of being “transphobic” and adding that she “has been removed from our Advisory Board and as an Athlete Ally Ambassador, effective immediately.”

No, I'm not naive. I am well-aware of current events. I'm talking personal integrity, honor, ethics, not to mention a conscience. What's a tainted victory of you know you cheated? Male tennis players are just bigger, stronger, faster than her.

So it’s not ‘sexist’ to say the top 1000 men would beat Serena – it’s a cold, hard, statistical fact.

Now imagine a scenario where a 25-year-old male player ranked say, No200 in the world, and earning around $100,000 a year, suddenly decides he wants to identify as female – either for genuine transgender reasons or for duplicitous, fraudulent, cynically commercial reasons – and now wishes to compete against women.

That player, if he underwent hormonal treatment to reduce his testosterone levels to the required levels, could spend the next 3/4 years playing as a woman on the women’s tour.

He, now she, would instantly be the best female tennis player that’s ever lived.

She would destroy Serena Williams, and every other woman player.

She would win every major tournament, break every women’s tennis record, and win tens, potentially hundreds of millions of dollars in the process.

And she would kill women’s tennis forever.

Oh, and if she then wished to, she could retire, and announce she was now identifying as male again.

That is the potentially ruinous scenario tennis legend Martina Navratilova recently articulated in a newspaper op-ed that promptly made her the most hated LGBTQ woman in America.

‘A man can decide to be female,’ she wrote in the Sunday Times of London, ‘take hormones if required by whatever sporting organisation is concerned, win everything in sight and perhaps earn a fortune, and then reverse his decision and go back to making babies if he do desires. It’s insane and it’s cheating.’

Yes, it is. And to those who scoff at the notion sportspeople might go to that kind of length to cheat, I scoff back: some sportspeople, as the likes of Lance Armstrong sadly reminded us, will go to ANY lengths to cheat if there is big money to be made.

Olympian Sharron Davies Warns Against Transgenders In Women's Sports, Posts Meme To Highlight Disadvantage

Over the weekend, Olympic medalist Sharron Davies sided with tennis legend and gay advocate Martina Navratilova regarding the downsides of transgender women's involvement in women's sports. Davies underscored why it creates an unfair advantage when biological males who identify as female compete against biological girls and women — and she unsurprisingly took her share of heat online for doing so.

However, Davies, thus far, is refusing to back down. The accomplished former swimmer appeared on "Good Morning Britain" on Monday to defend her position against male sociology professor Ellis Cashmore, who argued that biological females should get used to competing against transgender females in the name of inclusivity and equality.

On Friday, Davies tweeted, "I have nothing against anyone who wishes [to] be transgender. However I believe there is a fundamental difference between the binary sex u r born with & the gender u may identify as. To protect women’s sport those with a male sex advantage should not be able [to] compete in women’s sport."
