"We regret to inform that this evening, before closing there was an incident reported involving a guest, who crossed over the barrier to get a photo, according to eye witnesses," Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park said in a statement.

"The visitor sustained non-life threatening injuries to their arm from one of our female jaguars. At the request of the family, paramedics were called.
"At no time was the animal out of its enclosure," it added. "The incident is being fully investigated."

"We can promise you nothing will happen to our jaguar," the zoo said.

"She's a wild animal and there were proper barriers in place to keep our

guests safe- NOT a wild animals (https://abcnews.go.com/alerts/animals) ..... fault when barriers are crossed. Still

sending prayers to her and her family."

****************************************
"It's so frustrating when humans make stupid choices and the animals pay the price. I applaud @ZooWildlife (https://twitter.com/ZooWildlife) for not killing that beautiful jaguar. Quite frankly, the lady should be charged with criminal trespassing or something."

We live in a narcissistic society, made all the worse by selfies, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, et al... It's sad and pathetic.

I don't see anything changing this, unless those who are not in thrall of our own reflections start to shake those who are out of their self-absorption.

Until then... nominate her for a Darwin Award...

Magnificent cats!

How many times has this happened in the past few years? Frikkin' people think the
big cats are petting zoo animals.

Tourists along the Redwood Highway in Northern California stop to take selfies with Bull Elk,
even though signs are posted all over to NOT approach them.

Ignorance and Idiot go hand in hand.

They'd better not take this out on the animal in any way.
And when that dopey women eventually sues, I pray the judge throws her out of court.

This is similar to that idiot tourist we had here in AK a few years ago... she climbed over the barriers to get really close to Binky the polar bear at the Alaska Zoo.

Binky beat the hell out of her. She didn't die, but she deserved everything she got. Attaboy, Binky.

What the woman did was criminal. She stepped past a known barrier, there for HER protection, just to please herself with a GODDAMN SELFIE, incredible. She should be fined a few hundred bucks and thrown in jail for a couple nights.

Some people are just really stupid.
