And it's not something to celebrate, IMO. Trump has little to no choice as hands are tied, and he needs to protect and move forward. It's not like if he bends they will agree to funding. I admit I'm not a fan of the veto & the fact that he needs to go this route, but I see no alternative given.

Senate votes to block Trump’s border emergency, forcing his likely first veto

---The Senate has the votes to block President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration at the southern border.
---Trump plans to veto the measure, the first time he will do so during his presidency.

The Senate voted Thursday to block President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration over the southern border, a sharp bipartisan rebuke of the president’s flex of executive power.

The chamber comfortably passed the measure in a 59-41 vote. Twelve Republicans supported it.

Trump plans to reject the bill, which the Democratic-held House has already passed. The veto would be the first of his presidency. Neither chamber appears to have enough support to overcome Trump’s opposition with a two-thirds majority vote.

Republican senators who worried about executive overreach dealt an embarrassing blow to the president, who publicly lobbied the GOP to support his declaration in recent days. GOP lawmakers who voted to terminate Trump’s action voiced concerns not only about presidents circumventing Congress’ appropriations power, but also the prospect of Democratic administrations declaring emergencies on other topics in the future.

If the GOP fought Democrats as hard as they have fought Trump the last 3 years maybe Democrats woudn't have taken over the House last year.

And if I find out Howard Marklein, my senator, voted against our president, he will NOT get my vote again, even if he's the only republican running, I won't vote.

Exclusive — President Donald Trump: Paul Ryan Blocked Subpoenas of Democrats

President Donald Trump is not happy that former House Speaker Paul Ryan blocked subpoenas of people and entities Trump thinks the House GOP should have been investigating during the first two years of his administration.

Trump told Breitbart News in an exclusive lengthy Oval Office interview that Ryan blocked issuance of subpoenas to people he thinks should have been investigated on the political left, and now that the Republicans no longer have the majority in the House, President Trump says Ryan protected may have gotten away with whatever they did that warranted investigation.

Trump said that House Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) and his predecessor and fellow conservative Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) wanted to be tougher with the left, but that Ryan would not let them.

You know , I REALLY wouldn't have a problem with a principled stance of "hey we just don't believe ANY President should have this sort of authority" if I thought it mattered in the long run, but I'm sick of Democrats NEVER having principles and Republicans only having principles when it suits them.

Republicans need to wake the fuck up to the very sad reality that the only time the vast majority of Americans give a shit about the principles of politicians is when they can use the lack of them to bash the opposition.

The problem is, democrats are DIRTY, they FIGHT DIRTY, they don't give a SHIT about LAWS, they DON'T CARE, and they'll do WHATEVER IT IS THEY THINK THEY NEED TO DO to accomplish their FASCIST agenda.

Republicans on the other hand act like if they always play by the rules, they'll... win? It just seems to me that the republicans need to quit acting like a bunch of PATHETIC LITTLE PUSSIES and GET THE FUCK IN THE BRAWL with these filthy democrats, because they're in a fight with a BULLY that doesn't PLAY by the rules. We are watching the MINORITY WIN, because the representatives of the MAJORITY don't FIGHT like the MINORITY does.

But they better fucking learn and FAST, or it IS going to be TOO LATE. There won't be any way left out of this shit storm other than a SECOND CIVIL WAR.
