(CNSNews.com) - "This is all about impeaching the president," Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) told a contentious hearing of the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, as Democrats moved to approve a resolution recommending a contempt citation against Attorney General William Barr for refusing to turn over the unredacted Mueller report and all supporting documents.
Gaetz was reacting to Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) who moments earlier demanded the release of the full, unredacted Mueller report as a prelude to impeachment.
"This is all part of a cover-up, and it is up to this committee to ensure that we get that report because we have lawful responsibilities, constitutional responsibilities to engage in, one of which is possibly impeachment,” Johnson said.
