Good article... however... I don't see it as applying to "both major political parties." It does, though, apply to one, which is the progressive party, liberals, leftist and anarchists, all of which are akin to the democrat party. They haven't been content with America and it's founding principals since I can remember, and their last messiah, obama, his campaign mantra was... "we have to fundamentally change America."

The word "conservative" is very descriptive when it comes to the party of conservatives, i.e. republicans. They aren't the party, and have never been the party, of major upheaval and change. Conservatism is in itself, meaning to be conservative, so radical shifts to the extreme just aren't part of the party. They're stable, even rigid, in their beliefs, their culture, their adherence to America and it's founding and it's constitution.
