Your school district dollars at work...

----------------
A 4-year-old pre-schooler was kicked out of class for having pink hair, a San Antonio TV station reported, and can't return until her hair is stripped of its bright coloring.

Natalyn Gracia, of San Antonio, Texas, had her hair died pink in October for Halloween and liked it so much, her father re-dyed it over Christmas break.

However, the Dalton Early Childhood center told her and her father Ricardo that her hair must be under compliance of school rules, which means the pink must go.

School rules now prohibit hair dye? That's kinda retarded. I just read another story yesterday where a kid was sent home from HS for wearing a Florida Gators championship T-shirt, because they were sending all kids home who wore gang related colored outfits.:dunno:

Sounds like some of these educators need a slap in the head.

The "Dalton Early Childhood Center" sounds private to me. :dunno:

Couldn't view the whole article, but based on what I saw, she should absolutely be suspended. The rules were there, and they attempted to inform the parent. This is just the parent setting a bad example for the kid, teaching the girl that rules should be bent to accommodate every inclination a person has.

The school should let her back in and then figure out what is too extreme

translation: "The school should get rid of the rules, because I want them to, and then I'll accept some token 'punishment' in acknowledgment that I DID break a rule. As long as I don't MIND the 'punishment' too much."

I guess my fault is with whomever determined that kids ought not have pink hair. I don't think public schools ought to be in the business of prescribing hair color.
