View Full Version : Orders Businesses Deputizes Delivery Companies Just Another Day

China announces they will be imposing tariffs in Sept and December in retaliation. So, President Trump takes the following measures:

1. Orders businesses via twitter to stop doing business with China. "Our great American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China, including bringing your companies HOME and making your products in the USA. I will be responding to China’s Tariffs this afternoon."

2. Questions whether the Fed is a bigger enemy than Xi. He doesn't seem to get that the fed is independent of political offices. The fed doesn't have concentration camps, like Xi.

3. Orders delivery companies: UPS, Fed Ex, etc., to seek out and refuse to make any deliveries of fentanyl. "I am ordering all carriers, including Fed Ex, Amazon, UPS and the Post Office, to SEARCH FOR & REFUSE all deliveries of Fentanyl from China (or anywhere else!). Fentanyl kills 100,000 Americans a year. President Xi said this would stop - it didn’t. Our Economy, because of our gains in the last 2 1/2 years, is MUCH larger than that of China. We will keep it that way!"

All via twitter.

Thank the lord the Greenland crisis has been settled.

Sounds like socialism to me. Of course members will defend this complete lunacy. Just one of these tweets would send republicans to impeach if it were Obama.

Meh, more 2 liner BS.

Try a discussion sometimes and not being the first person to take a thread, and respond as the first response, and do so to :poke: at people. You look silly anymore. You will do the same, as always - But so and so, but this one... no PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY as usual.

You are dismissed from my thoughts.

Did you read those tweets? And you're worried about me looking silly?

That's what PUSHING BACK looks like, Pete. I know you people HATE any sort of PUSH BACK, especially when it's something that's good for America. It makes you people's policies and agenda look weak and stupid.

I absolutely LOVE the fact that our president FIGHTS BACK. We haven't had a president with this kind of BALLS since I've been alive.

Which of those tweets today, are good for the USA?

Yes, I did, and yes, I think he looks like a dumbass for such a statement. He does that 3-5 times weekly, unfortunately.

He told people to look for alternatives to China, including bringing companies home. But the portion in the beginning stating they are hereby "ordered" to start looking for alternatives, makes him come off like a demanding ass. Then he rambled on about it would instead be a great opportunity. Then he said he will be ordering all the major delivery companies like the USPS, UPS, Fedex.... to stop accepting any packages with Fentanyl. That's a good choice (IMO). --- in that order. Yep, a repeat of what Kath's summary has, but also from reading his crap on Twitter as I am a member/reader there: https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/with_replies

I like to go to the threads/replies section to read it all, and in order.

While "I" see it facetiously, his order, but also know it was stupid from the get go. When it's the president, such comments carry much more weight. I acknowledge this. And he's dumb enough on Twitter without purposely trying to come off as a dictator.

You still looked silly though. Your 5 word sentence - and then instantly into poking at others instead of joining a discussion. But I won't write as I just did above if I know I'm getting ignored or getting a sarcastic one liner in reply. Does it at least make sense to you?

 Sorry, thought you said that Trump's positions were good, I read it wrong? You've nothing to add, sorry to bother.

I think the entire thing, and fighting back against China is outstanding for the USA. And maybe would have been more positive had he left out that "I hereby order" crap, on Twitter no less, as if everyone fully reads it, and him! But I still think the idea of fighting back harshly, to an extent, and if companies were to leave there that would be some more icing. Yes, when the delivery is from an "ass", it surely does change the complexion of everything and perhaps the taste in some mouths. But all in all, I'm happy to see us fighting back against China. Just to lower how much they gouged us in the past on tariffs and such, even minimizing things I think would be a win in the end.

I was trying to be fair, first what I thought wasn't to bright, but included his direct quotes from Twitter-no paraphrasing.

He's not had a good week.

I agree with China pushback; certainly with intellectual stealing. Hell I hate them just for Hong Kong. ;)

Still, see not one redeemable thing to say about those three tweet topics today.

You sure are sarcastic a lot lately.

It's not so much HOW he does what he does, it's WHAT he does that's important. Are some of his tweets ridiculous? Surely, we've ALL said so.

So what part about him pushing back against China is bad? Or would you rather see China continue to screw us?

(I guess I just basically repeated what Jim said.)

He waited for the markets to close, down only 624, which is way better than the 750+ it had been down.

New round:

Replying to @realDonaldTrump
...unfair Trading Relationship. China should not have put new Tariffs on 75 BILLION DOLLARS of United States product (politically motivated!). Starting on October 1st, the 250 BILLION DOLLARS of goods and products from China, currently being taxed at 25%, will be taxed at 30%...

Replying to @realDonaldTrump...Additionally, the remaining 300 BILLION DOLLARS of goods and products from China, that was being taxed from September 1st at 10%, will now be taxed at 15%. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Watching Lindsay Graham, he likes what Trump did, including tonight increasing the tariffs by 5%. "Keep it up, play it out."
