He went through the generals, including his favorite Mattis. I am finding that he keeps having a problem with those that have problems with his foreign policy perspective. One thing is notable, for the most part they are not going out of their way to publicly humiliate him.

Yes, well. The BBC has just started screening its 6PM news. This is being billed in their introductory headlines as 'Trump fires again' ... no doubt they're aiming at a 'neutral' report that just 'happens' to be full of negativity against President Trump. Every good leader has people under him that disagree with him. It would be stupid to do otherwise, just have a bunch of yes men. The problem is when those people don't shut the fuck up once a decision has been made, and under this President they never do. It's like almost to a person once they disagree with Trump on an issue they feel a need to air that disagreement in public. No leader wants to tolerate that garbage.

BBC neutrality: 'Bolton has just walked the plank'.

No definite news reported as to precise circumstances .. just the tweeted difference in accounts, also the BBC pointing out that 'over 50' officials have been fired on Trump's watch.

One comment from John Sopel .. that there's a perception that Trump is an impetuous character who regularly needs to be reined in 'by adults' (don't you just love BBC judgmental 'neutrality' ?). Sopel speculates that in this instance, it was the other way around: Bolton was too hawkish. Something to do with Taliban talks .. ?

I am fine with that as long as we fuck the Taliban up on the way out.

Hell, if I were President we'd have no troops in Europe or at least far fewer than we have now, and the same with South Korea. This isn't the 18th Century where we need a battleship and thousands of men to deter some nut from doing something stupid. We can strike anywhere in the world in a matter of hours if we need to.

Never underestimate the power of propaganda.

Maybe you do have modern powers, not necessitating manpower presences clear across the world. Nonetheless ... withdrawals permit a new propaganda offensive to take hold. Allow your enemies to interpret the American military as being 'on the run', or, just that the resolve to maintain levels as they are is absent ... your enemies will do the obvious, and accuse the US of weakness.

Whether or not it's 'true', won't matter. Your actions could be perceived that way, leading to greater, avoidable levels of fresh recruitment.

I think this is a reality that Bolton understands well. If so, he is, of course, right.

Iran urges US to ‘put warmongers aside’ after Bolton firing
By NASSER KARIMI
today

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s president urged the U.S. on Wednesday to “put warmongers aside” as tensions roil the Persian Gulf amid an escalating crisis between Washington and Tehran in the wake of the collapsing nuclear deal with world powers.

Hassan Rouhani’s remarks signaled approval of President Donald Trump’s abrupt dismissal of John Bolton as national security adviser, a man routinely pilloried by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as part of a “B Team” that targeted Iran.

Bolton had for years been critical of Tehran and once promised before an Iranian exile group that they’d be celebrating the overthrow of Iran’s government this year.

... ahh. So .. IRAN approves of Bolton's departure ! Oh, well, there y'go, then.

I really needed to be guided, even 'corrected', by Iran's viewpoint !!

Perhaps Noir did, too .. ?

Bolton, from my point of view, was, and is, a considerable asset to the US. He's never shown tolerance to America's enemies, as, of course, no decent patriot should !! His supposedly 'hawkish' views keep people alert to the dangers overseas opponents pose, and he well knows what those ongoing dangers mandate. In case it isn't obvious, I respect that man.

Here, for Noir's benefit, is an example of why he 'shouldn't' be heeded, why he 'shouldn't' have his pride of place in the corridors of power:

Washington (AFP) - The Iranian oil tanker Adrian Darya 1, blacklisted by Washington, has arrived in the Syrian port of Tartus, US national security advisor John Bolton said.

"Anyone who said the Adrian Darya-1 wasn't headed to Syria is in denial," Bolton said in a tweet late Friday with a satellite image he said showed the ship anchored two nautical miles off Tartus.

"Tehran thinks it's more important to fund the murderous Assad regime than provide for its own people. We can talk, but Iran's not getting any sanctions relief until it stops lying and spreading terror!"

I like Bolton and still do. I also believe he resigned and then Trump thought he would beat him to the punch and claim he fired him. Stupid. Retarded. Arrogant. Shit like this is nothing new and it didn't change whether Bolton would be gone or not. But still a part of Trump I don't like. He lies and exaggerates. Mot the lying that the MSM would have you believe, but lies about dumb things nonetheless.

But I hope whomever replaces Bolton is willing to be as tough and not back down. We need someone strong in all of those positions. Someone who doesn't take shit from other countries, especially damn terrorists.

I'm pretty sure that whomever he names will be an ally of Pompeo and Muchchin. They seemed to be almost giddy at the news conference yesterday.

The president has every right to have the advisers he wants. I personally think he's made many mistakes in the past 10 days, ones I think he's going to have a big problem overcoming.

I'd been concerned just hearing about the 'principle agreement' without the Afghan government, but throw in Camp David meeting? Kind of took my consideration of voting for him in a year off the table again. He may surprise me, he's done it before, but today I found it disgusting watching him in the 9/11 ceremony at the Pentagon. I'm sorry, but I did.

FOX NEWS FLASHPublished 6 hours agoTucker hails firing of John Bolton: He was 'fundamentally a man of the left'
By David Montanaro | Fox News

Tucker Carlson (https://www.foxnews.com/shows/tucker-carlson-tonight) hailed the firing Tuesday of White House National Security Adviser John Bolton (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/white-house-acting-national-security-adviser-charles-kupperman-john-bolton-islamophobe-resignation), calling him a "man of the left" whose exit should be celebrated by young service members.

“It is great news for America. Especially for the large number of young people who would have been killed in pointless wars if Bolton had stayed on the job. They may not be celebrating tonight, but they should be," said Carlson, noting that oil prices dropped on the news of Bolton's firing, since global investors "knew for certain that Bolton planned on launching another Middle Eastern conflict that would inevitably spike energy prices."

In his opening monologue on "Tucker Carlson Tonight," (https://www.foxnews.com/shows/tucker-carlson-tonight) Carlson looked back on his March 2018 interview with Bolton, recalling that Bolton displayed "selective amnesia" about the consequences of "regime change" in the Middle East.

I don't know what he meant by that, weird, because Tucker usually doesn't pigeonhole war mongers in the left or right, recognizing that they exist on both sides.

Maybe he was referring to the fact that now that Trump has fired him Bolton will become a leftie folk hero.
