This is insanity. This is the LEFT in full display. "Ignore laws, and if you don't ignore certain laws, then we will use the law against you".

I don't see how they can get away with this, but they have thus far. If I were him I would sue them for every penny and fight this all the way to the SC if I had to. We are a nation of laws, and he is a sworn officer.

Virginia Police Officer Suspended After Handing Over Suspected Illegal to ICE

A Fairfax County, Va., police officer has been suspended after turning over a suspected illegal alien to ICE following a traffic accident.

The incident occurred on September 21 and the officer has not been identified.

Fox News:

The officer discovered one of the drivers didn't have a Virginia driver's license and ran a check with the state Department of Motor Vehicles, police said. The check revealed the driver had a violation for failing to appear for a deportation hearing.

The officer verified the warrant and alerted officials with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

An ICE agent was close by and arrived at the scene. The officer cited the driver for not having a driver's license and turned them over to the federal agent.

So, the officer should have ignored the warrant for failure to appear and sent the illegal on his merry way. Are you kidding me?

That's what "sanctuary" is all about.

The Fairfax County Police Department enacted a 2007 policy that prohibits officers from confirming a person's immigration status and detaining them solely based on civil violations of immigration law.

“This is an unfortunate issue where the officer was confused,” Police Chief Edwin Roessler Jr. said. “We have trained on this issue a lot. This is the first time we’ve had a lapse in judgment, and the officer is being punished.”

That police chief has been cowed into submission to the point where an officer who was simply doing his job has been suspended. Groveling before the PC brigades (“We have trained on this issue a lot") and wringing your hands won't help, chief.

It's incredible to term the officer's actions a "lapse in judgment" when all he was simply doing his job.

The driver was released from federal custody after three hours and ordered to wear an ankle monitor. Roessler apologized for the incident and ordered an internal investigation upon learning of it.

"Our county is one of the most diverse counties in the nation and no one should have the perception that FCPD is acting as a civil immigration agent for ICE," he said.

This is an example of an issue where I believe Trump has failed voters. Why isn't the federal government going after these sanctuary cities and states, and suing them?

Well, I agree to a point. It is long past the stage where a bomb of sorts should be dropped on
towns, cities, counties, parishes, and states that defy the Constitution and Code of Federal Regulations,
which is Federal Law.

All I can surmise is the present administration is knee-deep in the river of shit that the democrats keep
sending downriver to undermine the White House.

Sorry state of affairs generated by crybabies on the left - liberals!

Well, that's obvious. The Dems have purposely created a situation where the President is far too busy defending himself to actually do his fucking job.

But part of that is his fault too, at the very start of all this mess he should have just went hands off and let his legal team handle it while he went about the people's business. He spends FAR too much time defending himself against what we all know are ridiculous claims.

So now the police chief has heard all the feedback and has reversed the decision and the officer is no longer suspended. Of course this is the right thing to do as it never should have happened to begin with.
