I love to see the littles ones dressed up, with their huge expressive eyes
enjoying the venture.

I'm living in a pretty large apartment complex. With the rent being what it is, mostly it's young singles and sunbirds. Still, bought a big bag of candy, it's about what's left at the end of the night. ;)

I saw some great pictures of kiddies in wheelchairs yesterday, and Mom had made a train around the one, and another Dad made the wheelchair into a coach from the waiting room in Beetlejuice...

My son was in charge this year. Dang Amazon box arrived and I could barely lift it. He bought nothing but 5lb bags of candy!! 25lbs in total!!! We usually get no more than 10 visitors every year on our dead end road!!

It is usually windy and stormy here, so the city puts on a fete at either the fairgrounds or the library.

A little windy and rainy here right now. Never stopped me when I was a kid! I wouldn't miss halloween in a blizzard. But times have changed, and NY is weird around halloween.

Seems Chicago has returned to Halloweens of my youth. Snow/rain. It was nearly always nice when I took my kids out, but now it's back to the 'old days.' Seems much more 'witching' when the wind blows.

$5 toss your pumpkin off a bridge! I'd have liked this back when!

We do a big event at the farm every year, We have a HUGE bonfire every year and horse draw hay rides and a haunted barn .

I am cooking about 10 gallons of chili and we have bought probably 100 lbs of candy. Plus it is potluck so everyone brings a bit of everything.

Last year we had about 500 people stopped by and it was a great time.

One of the local churches actually puts the event on so that draws a big crowd

We just love having big crowds out .

I'd still do it today! LOL

Scary though, as we have like an epidemic over the years of younger nitwits dropping things off of bridges and hurting people in passing cars. Dang, imagine what a pumpkin would do to a car going 55? The worst ever was the bowling ball which I believe killed 2?

When I was young and dumb a bunch of us raided a watermelon farm, we stole well over 200 watermelons, 2 truck loads and drunkenly through them off a mid construction bypass onto a fairly busy highway in Branson. We got very lucky that someone wasnt injured and this was back in the good old days. the local cops arrested us, we spent one night in jail and the old farmer showed up and declined pressing charges for stealing the watermelons and destroying his property in exchange for 2 weekends of us helping him repair the damage we caused.

Plus the $1500 in fines per person for MIP , drunk and disorderly etc etc etc. Almost got me kicked out of the National Guard. Probably the only thing that saved me was my unit got activated for Desert Storm and I was told it would be dealt with when we got home, but when we got home nothing more was said of it, and it didn't come up in any other conversations during my career as far as during background checks or anything.

Haven't had trick or treaters since 1992.

I live down 2 dirt roads that are more conducive to 4 wheel drive vehicles, no street lights or sidewalks and a ton of snakes and wildlife. No trick or treating at my house. We donate candy to YMCA and church for Trunk or Treat events.

No one goes door to door trick or treating around here. Just too remote and when the kids can just show up at something like we do every year and get all the candy they want, why go door to door?

When I was a kid in Diamond Bar California we lived in a condo complex that probably had 1000 condos in it. Now that was fun too. There were so many people that we would have 2 costumes. We'd make the rounds as far as mom and dad would take us then we would go home and change costumes all the houses closer to home.

364 days a year we tell our children, "Don't take candy from strangers," then one night a year we let them do just that...
