We have two well-known American actors who've been appearing in our adverts for years. Harvey Keitel, reprising his 'Winston Wolf' character out of Pulp Fiction, in ads for an insurance company. Also, Kevin Bacon, in a long-running series of mobile phone ads for one of our cellphone signal providers.

Just a taste ... I may add more (unless others of you do ?).

1st and 3rd vids are not watchable in the US.

V sorry to learn that ... I thought that using YouTube as a source guaranteed that these could be accessed internationally.

I'll try a few more. Hope you have better luck with these.

Al Pacino in this one ..

Funny thing, a lot of American actors will not to television advertisements that will air in the U.S.

I can't remember ever seeing Keitel, Bacon, or Willis in a commercial over here...

Maybe that's because they're too busy doing them over here ? It's fairly commonplace to see your actors doing our UK commercials (Bacon and Keitel have done quite a few more than I've posted ..).

Strange, though. I'd have thought doing them in America would be more lucrative.

Interesting... Kevin Bacon is a conservative. I wonder how they got Britney to be in an ad with him? Is she a closet conservative?

----------------

Edit: Another interesting... it appears that little Britney might be a conservative as well...

Interesting, then, because even though the UK has had a Conservative Government in place since 2010, I think that many American Conservatives would struggle to identify it as one, in their terms (admittedly, one of those Governments had to be a coalition one, with our LibDems sharing power).

Our Conservatives avoid public discussion of religion, for example. Ours fully buy into the 'need' for an NHS. Ours (& David Cameron was strongly in favour of this) have introduced gay marriage into our society.

My thinking was the opposite -- I assumed that it'd be the typical 'Californian Hollywood Leftie' who'd be more likely to feel at home here.
